Someone is letting you know that in the past the domain sold. The theory being it sold once so it can sell again. The flipside of that is that someone might have gotten lucky years ago and the one true enduser bought it and then later shut down the website. If the name appears to have many end users that metric means more than at one time someone bought zippitywahdoo.com for their kids wacky toy brand.

Well it's not bad, but what I was saying especially to a new domainer, think, just because it sold before does not make it a good thing. If it's a generic, short, easy to remember name it's good, but sometimes it will be a lucky outlier name that sold before. Just use it as another metric but not the deciding factor, if you did not like the name prior to hearing it sold before, the sold before holds little weight, if you liked it, it's another little plus.

I wouldn't worry about the history or previous age in a .net. I would be more concerned that it's avail as a hand-reg. I think you can do better.

** But. But but but, if you like it and are planning to develop it into a website, well there have been known cases where the content drives the name, not the other way around. ie., twitt, googl etc ** And dam the critics. :)

Here is an example I purchased a domain here at wholesale, that had a history, it previously sold for $253. I auctioned it here and got $25, now I think the name was worth more than $25 but not many professional writers here at Namepros so it went for $25. It's a name that I could see another end user coming for and the new buyer might make that sale.

Like most domain investments, it's risky. We cannot really give you any better answer than that without knowing the domain.

I have no idea about your price expectations for this domain, but with only the .com & .net registered, both of which seemed to be for sale for their whole lives. Both appear to have been dropped several times. If I was wanting to use the keyword "barnyards", I'd choose the .org (unregistered). I don't see any market for this keyword. The cache of .net has almost completely evaporated. I'd say that you would probably be lucky to ever get any offers on this domain. YMMV. Even barnyard.com has never had proper development. I don't see these as profitable keywords which anybody would want to buy.

It's unlikely anybody wants a domain transfer locked at NetSol for 60 days. You could try after the 60 day hold has been removed. Which would give some time for people to forget this thread.
