The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
There are NamePros members who may offer sales advice when the name is provided in a post or query.

Without knowing the name it is difficult for those members to suggest or provide " tips " on how to sell a particular name.

Read through the numerous domain sales and domain selling threads throughout NamePros and your research could help you self-determine a reasonable sales plan for your domain.

On the NamePros' Home page is a large discussion section titled DOMAIN BUYING and SELLING DISCUSSION, therein you may locate sales strategies and sales advice related to your personal domain endeavors.

There are numerous ways to try and locate ed users for domain names, including auctions, Buy Now platforms, make offer platforms, brokers, outbound sales letters, etc., and suggest you search out the sales format most appropriate to the quality of your domain / s and your expectations.

I think you need to ask yourself a few questions before you start trying to sell....
  1. Am I planning to sell this wholesale (to other domainers) or retail (to end users)
  2. How long am I willing to hold this domain asset before it sells
  3. Considering 1 and 2 and NameBio comparable sales and other criteria, what is the right price
  4. Am I able or willing to do outbound, or do I want to simply list it and wait for people to come to me
  5. Even if not doing outbound, make a list of possible uses/users for the name and use that as a guide both for price, how long to hold it, and how to try to sell it.
NPs as a no commission is a good place to sell but only at wholesale prices.

You have many choices (e.g. Afternic, DAN, Sedo and the brandable marketplaces but also many more) if going for retail, and look into the features and benefits of each choice.

Best wishes,

Bob

You can buy domain names from a reputable domain registrar at sites like Namecheap, Godaddy, Monikar, etc. You will type in your chosen domain name in the search box and if it's available you can purchase it for a few dollars per year.

Guys ,anyone can share their knowledge ? :)
@JGwWN GJdvx8 if you are looking for a clean Registrar to register domains with and sale, lease, or finance them you should consider Epik (epik.com). Our Marketplace allows for an easy set up with multiple options. Leasing has become big in the recent years as it gives people a chance to "try it before they buy it." Financing is also an area that is growing as it allows those who need to make payments on bigger purchases do so. I am the Director of Client Services and my direct email is [email protected] if you have any questions at all!

My tip is buy 99 more and drop 50% as you wake up and then the following year buy another 100 and drop 50% of them again. About now you have a handful worth appraising.

re: "most appropriate to the quality of your domain"... I understand how quality affects how one posts/does a sales format. But, if I understood your words, don't understand how quality would affect sales format selection/type. Please explain. Thank you in advance.

Sure!

There are domain name sales sites that accept / decline names for sale dependent on name quality and likelihood of sale ( etc );

Also, not all domain auctions will willingly accept for auction any name that a seller wants to submit.

Additionally, the comment re the quality of a name and sales format was meant to imply that an established domain name broker would not likely agree to try and sell a poor/mediocre domain name.

The better the quality of a domain name, the more potential sales formats will be available to a seller.

Guys ,anyone can share their knowledge ?

Both dan and epik offer free marketplace listings (of course there are charges/commissions if a name sells) and I use them both but the new SSL landers at epik with the ability to customize each one is where most of mine names are directed now.
