I can see a number of these getting picked up - there a few others I'm surprised they accepted the high reserve and can't see selling because of it. What do you think?

noticed chewed is available. was over at gd and saw that someone is trying to move chewy for an asking price of $450,000 usd.....anyone? it's not so bad when you consider it's only $90,000 per letter.
Not even premium letters...

#69 Mapleleaves is a interesting pick...
A typo for leafs but I will leave that up to the experts to decide

I turned that name down a few times, it has no value.

I think Chewy.com is a US only pet store... So if Canadians wanted a piece of the action they could benefit from Canadians trying to buy from there.

Toronto is the one that's grammatically incorrect, as the plural of leaf is always leaves.

So if you were going to set up a Canadian-based business, this is actually a pretty good pick if you can get it cheap off the TBR.

I am interested in knowing why you feel this way, as picking it late through the TBR you could get the proper spelling for a tiny investment.

I always hated saying "Maple Leafs" for hockey, as it just sounds redneck, as in you don't say "Hey are those Oak Leafs, or how about those, are they Elm Leafs or Birch Leafs?" Ugh!

Trust me, I have the same reservations if I'm buying it for $$$$$, but we're talking late in the TBR when you can get it for nothing.

I'm more concentrated on short words, terms or names, but I can see the potential if you can get it cheap and either develop it or sell it later.

You will be forever spelling it, leafs has become the accepted term. Leaves even looks wrong because we are all used to leafs.

Personally with my ever increasing catalogue, even on the drop I will not be picking it up.

Besides, I already have Maple Leafs in org

Not to me, the incorrect spelling always bothered me, and my Dad is a lifelong Leafs" fan. :xf.frown:

Quoted from another thread..
I applied for a “top domain” for my do.ca earlier this year but was rejected.

Is it the same person/people who say yes or no when it comes to a top domain or is it always different?
Really not sure why a "LL/word" didn't make it but it sure qualifies as a liquid name..
Note: hoping to see a answer from staff to your question.

I am the opposite, the correct spelling bothered me, that why I originally found it "interesting" to see it went #69

If this is Sedo, then they do not by habit give out Top Domains to .CA.

.COM or .DE are their faves.

I just liked the pick because it was a late and cheap pick on NP, and the made-up term "Leafs" always gives me an Canadian redneck feel, as in...

"So I says to me pal Bob, I says, 'Bill, we watchin' da Leafs tonight eh?'"

Well after reapplying, do.ca has made it to the “Top Domains” section. Thanks to the NamePros selection team for realizing that it does belong on that list. :) Let’s hope we see more .ca’s in that section. I will be applying for another one there very soon.

The To Be Released (TBR) Weekly .CA Picks for October 16 are online:

The .CA numbers have increased for the fifth week in a row, and although the sheer number of single-words have spiked, many of these are plurals or esoteric so the overall quality has actually dropped a bit. Our Top Picks List highlights notable domains like...

More Words than a Bowl of Alphabet Soup
