When running auctions here I see some people tag all the bidders, I do not do that because I thought some people might get pissed, but then I have had a couple pm lately saying they wish I did tag them when a Buy it now was set.

I was thinking maybe when starting auctions making part of the protocol would be to say I will tag you on 24 hours bumps or when there is a buy it now set, if you don't want to be tagged please mention that with first bid, example $1 no tag.

Are you in favor of tagging or not.

Absolutely. I have seen people asking for status when the auction closed through BIN. It is a great idea to tag all the bidders and notify them when there is a BIN announced.

I hope this will help all the bidders in a positive way.

As long as it not more that one tag/bump a day.

In the case of a bin being added...absolutely!

Only for BIN and/or LAST CALL auction, in order to not miss something and to be fair with all bidders at the same time. Not more than once a day would be ok.

I don't like it but it can be helpful so it's one of those things you tolerate. I've never done it but might start.

Well I think my one idea makes sense that you state you will tag when you start the auction. If you don't want to be tagged please mention it just once on your first bid so @Mister Funsky $1 no tag. Then I would never tag those members.

That is an excellent idea...it is something the seller could mention in the listing...if someone is anti-tag, the seller could opt out of including them in updates. More than once I would have gone for the bin in an auction had I known it was available before it was too late.

Totally agree...also didn't feel comfortable with my username used in the title.

Like the "don't tag" part...might start using it when I bid..
Wondering if I post.."$1.00 (only valid as long as "not tagged")

I don’t like being tagged thanked or mentioned in any way after placing a bid at a NP auction.

I also never post publicly that I am DM’ing someone with an offer for sale in the WTB threads I just DM. If buyer likes the domain he likes it I don’t see the point in telling the world that I’m offering privately a domain for sale in response to a WTB thread.

Right and I never did it thinking people felt the way you did, but then I had two auctions where I had people pm me about why I "DIDN'T" tag them? I thought I never wanted to do that as I thought people would get pissed.

I also have never posted pm sent there was a time when we had finally got that banned but it came back years ago when the forum was sold.

Maybe, namepros should have an untag option that can keep people from getting notified each time they are tagged

When I get involved in a auction..I "subscribe with emails alerts" and I check my emails regularly so tagging me just a waste of time..basically I know what's happening in the auction and have decided whether or not, I want to continue bidding.

When it comes to auctions there is no such thing as enough notifications.

I appreciate being tagged, when I get busy doing other things I often come back and an auction is done.

If I bid over a couple hundred on a domain then I am interested so even when it goes to 8-900 I would appreciate being given another chance to bid and a quick tag saying the end of the auction is approaching would be appreciated.

Mind you if I get tagged every day and the auction is nowhere near done then I might get a bit annoyed.

If I lost high bid and got tagged that would also be appreciated.

That's assuming you come back every time someone bids. The topic notifies you only once and if you don't revisit then you are basically out.

Valid point.

Personally, I make a decision on how high I will bid and keep a eye on the auction (through emails and forum alerts)..once it past my max, I unsubscribe.

I wouldn't have thought some would be "ANTI-TAG" to begin with.. if I'm bidding or tracking an auction I want to know what's happening, as sometimes seconds or minutes can mean the difference between being the winner or not.

EASIEST SOLUTION - would be to add a tag/untag option when watching or making a post in a thread.. let the user/poster/watcher determine that option on a thread by thread basis.. just not feasible to make each thread creator post, track, and update those rules on their own for every single thread and keep track of what each new member post wanted, let the poster/subscriber choose when they post/watch.

When there are more than 20 bidders, how to tag them all? Anybody help me in this regard?

ВIN/Last Call — yes
Вump, next bid etc — no, because for this there is a watch thread option

I like to be tagged if a buy now is added..because i lost a nice name before because i had no clue a buy now was added.......

a buy now is more than a bump... it meas the whole auction is about to end.

It's almost disrespectful to leave all the bidders in the blue when you add a buy now.

You may see notifications but you can take it as a bump or something especially if the auction has 72 hours after last bid etc...

So it's sensible and respectful to make the bidders know when a buy now is added.

I may have said otherwise in the past..who knows... but after that experience i was a bit upset.

Maybe namepros could add an alert button or something else to notify bidders even my PM if a buy now is added to an auction.

Seems pointless to mention on a bump but when a BIN is set absolutely.
