Using BrandBucket.com as appraisal tool

Brand Bucket will let you know if your name is accepted or not and also give you an appraisal of what they think the name could possibly sell for. They do have a lot of experience and sales data to back up the valuation. Just curious if anyone uses Brand Bucket to solely get a gauge of what price to list their brandable names for.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I usually find “brand bucket approved” appraisal, more useful, for listing BB names on Namepros.

“BB approved” names value 20-40 here generally

And that’s on the low-end i have seen. Lately, it feels been a bunch of new players, (Squadhelp, BrandPa etc) I find Brandbucket not the best for appraisal, as I have not had much success, selling with them, lately.

Furthermore, no appraisal in the world is worth the 30% commission, BB charges (names below 100K) Best thing about Brandbucket, is logo design, but the added costs, are not worth it, for their appraisal imo

Interesting take, it will be nice to see how people view BrandBucket valuations.

The only purpose of the valuation is to see what they would list it for. Many if not most names there are priced below market value. Their newsletters of past even mentioned that. They are geared towards other domainers with bigger pockets buying (wholesale) and bootstrap budget startups.

The only names they tend to overprice at times are dictionary words. Other than that, their valuation is a guide to what your name should sell for to a non end user (investor) or to an end user with lower budget. SquadHelp has a very similar model with even lower pricing.

Some mod moved this thread to marketplace reviews. This thread has nothing to do with reviews. I don't get it.

i don't agree that most names are priced below market value. There is so much crap there that I wouldn't handreg. I also don't agree that domainers are paying thousands of dollars for these domains. You can barely get domainers to pay 40 bucks for most of that junk.
