Hello and Assalamo Alaikum,

It’s been just couple of weeks coming to Malaysia and right after relocating, I sold couple of domains and that too within 24 hours. It was really surprising and very satisfying to have 2 domain sales and that too of five figures! Having couple of five figures that quickly is a personal record. Credit to the hard working brokers and Afternic team.

Both of them happened via Afternic.

First sale was of DarkWallet.com which I originally listed for sale at $29,888 BIN both at Sedo and Afternic. Usually all my pricing is same at every marketplace. The buyer came via Afternic broker and initially offered $20,000. However, after going back and forth, we settled for $25,000 gross.

Next sale was definitely surprising which happened after DarkWallet.com sale where the buyer simply hit the BIN and paid $19,888 for it. The domain was BusinessChecking.com

The total acquisition costs for both domains was around $1,000.

Looks like the start of this new journey of moving to Malaysia has started fantastically well and hope it continues to keep ticking up only.

Feel free to comment no matter how good or good that is 😉

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

If you use Escrow.com via Uniregistry, you don't pay any commission to Uni.

The link you shared is of using Uniregistry brokerage so then you pay 15% commission for using their brokerage service. As said in my earlier post, if you handle the lead/inquiry by yourself by either using Escrow.com or Uniregistry checkout itself, you don't pay any commission except a very nominal service fee. Also in recent time, Uni have given the option to put credit card/PayPal fee on buyer or you pay yourself depending on your choice.

Thank you!

All my domains are parked with Uniregistry.

Almost all domains are set to BIN and I don't entertain price requests because most have same minimum offer as BIN.

All domains listed with Sedo as well with same price as Afternic but it looks the distribution network isn't as good as Afternic.

Congrats on the sales! Especially after moving to a new country, it always helps to have some extra cash to get settled!

I do have a question for you, since I noticed this and had been kind of fighting with myself about this. Do you personally set BINs at Uniregistry along with Sedo and Afternic as well as other marketplaces? Or is it just set at Uniregistry and everything else is at Make Offer?

Couple or so domains are set to BIN at Uni because of nonsensical inquiries come in too much.
All domains I want to sell for up to 50K are set to BIN at Sedo and Afternic.

Should've known that I'll end up triggering things the moment I mention a certain something.

Haven't been in NP for a while since I was dealing with several d@mn3d issues (including a cursed auction)

1st things 1st, before anyone else gets any ideas of moving to M.Y. for the tex.....

WARNING: Do NOT simply assume that ALL foreign income is tax free!!!

Not all written laws are 100% black and white and that's why there are courts making things like "landmark decisions" that will cause laws to be "interpreted differently". So do NOT take written laws at face value!

I don't know who told you this, whether that person has elaborated enough or may have assumed certain things when saying that to you, how you structure your payouts, etc... so the most I can do is to make comments based on assumptions.

TL;DR version: If the person who told you this isn't a lawyer who's well versed in M.Y. laws, and especially if you have already banked in the recent payouts to a bank here, you better get a real lawyer soon and find out thoroughly from them.

Everything that I'm going to tell you next is based on pure memory of what I've researched a few years ago, and disclaimer: I'm NO lawyer.

1) the problem with that law is this part, "income earned/received from outside M.Y.", because there are no precise info on what's really considered "income earned/received from outside M.Y."

2) there was at least an article (URL lost, didn't keep it) about a gov. underling claiming that, if you're inside the country while earning money online from a foreign company, you're still considered to be earning income INSIDE M.Y. There are people warning against assuming this tax free status.

3) that very law was made long ago when many local citizens were physically working in other countries and bringing that income back home to their families and that's why it's tex free, because back then it was so damn easy to identify that the income really came from foreign sources. Now, things are getting more ambiguous & complicated, & the gov. wants more $$$ if they can get their hands on them.

4) it might be different if you have an entity in L/A/B/U/A/N (Sabah), but that's something I didn't research much on.

BUT, if you're still receiving income only to your Pakistani bank and then simply transferring that here, then you're probably good to go (the Pakistan gov. doesn't tex you on domain sales all these while right?) and you can probably ignore everything I've said above.

Thank you!
I've lived in UAE for 10 years in past. However, the current situation of that country isn't good and I don't see any good future there for anyone. It's going down the hill in every aspect.

This is Gold, Thank you. I'm moving a large amount of my names to Uni from dan.

Question about this @AbdulBasit.com I see the 3 options at Uni Checkout Settings

-Uni Secure Exchange
-Wire Transfer
-Credit Care/Paypal

Are you still able to process sales in the the high 5-6 fig range with the above 3 options, with out enabling the Escrow.com Configured ?

(brokerage disable) self handle currently set

There is no limit for the buyer to pay Uniregistry via Uni Secure Exchange and Wire Transfer but there is some $5000 or $5500 limit for the buyer to pay by Credit Card/PayPal. And yes, without enabling Escrow.com configured for all 3 options.
