Can relate to #1 "taking down.."
I took down a few videosthat I made, and I left a few of the same quality on my channel..those that I left didn't start to get views till about year and half after published.

Same thing with written content, I just edit/rewrite them every now and then.

Google loves video. It takes time to get content to rank well. You don't want to start over if at all possible.
