Yes! I just had someone try to get me to renew a domain for $46 via paypal , they sent a Email trying to make it look like it was from Godaddy sending a invoice for to renew a name via PayPal!
I've been busy and have not gotten around to sharing or reporting it!
But I signed in to PayPal to see the person requesting it was a Russain Name in Russian letters! I canceled it and have yet to report it!
This was just a day or to ago.
Godaddy has NEVER sent me a PayPal invoice for anything yet alone to renew a name.
Which they had the Wrong Expire Date as I was watching that name to begin with so I knew something was up as well as the $46 on a .com was wrong too. I will try to get around to posting screen shots. I'm about to step out for awhile.
Once a scammer has hacked into somebody else's PayPal account (as in the case of the phishing email scam), they can make purchases and send payments with the money from the account they have taken over.
