What's the worst purchase you've ever made? We've all been there, you spot an interesting domain in the final minutes of its auction, and before you know it you're in a bidding war and you care more about winning than the actual domain.

I'm usually quite careful and simply don't bid on something until I've thought about it for a couple of days and done my research.

However, I once bought toppu.com for about 300 bucks in an expiring auction. Certainly not a bad brandable, but not worth 300 dollars to a reseller. I didn't even particularly want it, I just didn't want to lose - a very dangerous mindset in an auction.

I did sell it in the end, but only for about a third of what I paid for it. I could have held it and maybe got more, but the very fact I owned it annoyed me! Indeed, it wasn't the money that made it painful it was knowing I'd acted so irrationally. Even if I'd sold it for profit I'd still have hated that domain.

MyWall.co - it does not make any sense. I paid $12+renewal+VAT. What was I thinking?

{Something}Trump.com

Paid well over mid 0000s for it.. got urdp right away... and got an offer for purchase a few days later.. sold immediately to not have to deal with udrp..

come to think of it, maybe the udrp came for the potential buyer ;) either way.. made a quick profit so it all worked out.

I regret all of my .md domain registrations. Out of the 30 I registered, scolding a whopping 2 at 10% above the price. Really thought that one would take off.
