Hi All,

I'm working with a client who owns this domain. It was used for a beta fishing related marketplace but they are considering selling it. I told them that I would do a little research on the value of FishingGear.com

Thank you,

Jennifer J.

Good name. Depends on if they want quick sale and if to an investor or end user.

just some "gear" sales..

TruckGear.com - 17.750 - Afternic
baseballgear - 7,600
snowmobileegear 9k

Granted most of these are old sales.. but I would say $50k tops for a quick sale to end user who would keep it a marketplace.

The truck and snowmobile gear sites are developed.

Edit:

SleepGear - $5k 2017
xrgear.com $5k 2018
StreetBikeGear - 6k 2015

So perhaps 25k tops for a quick sale.

Product domain sales are not what they used to be in 2008 era.

Highest gear ending name prior sale I could find was 24k igear.com truckgear.com 17k

Highest containing fishing prior sale I could find was fishingpole.com 59k (but a very old sale 11 years ago)

fishinglure.com reseller sole this year for 7.6k

But your domain very nice and should have a holistic approach and value it in six figure retail. Just way too common of a saying for items that are very competitively sold. Good Luck

I would love to buy this name being a huge fisherman. :xf.smile: Tackle is a better word but this is still a nice name.

Fishingpole.com now redirects to thespacereporter.com, fishinglure.com is a lander.

Fish/Gear (com) was a comparable sale on GD appraisal that sold for $8099

I'm not a fan of double lettering (g's) but I think it works better here as fishing instead of fish imo

Snorkeling/Gear (com) double (g) also a comparable sale at $10,000

Cycling/Gear (com) double (g) also a comparable sale at $5,500

Your name was appraised at $10,247 but I think it's worth more to the right buyer imo

Good luck, but I think your reserve is pretty high, you need a end user.

Reserve price range:25,000 USD - 49,999 US

There are over 100 data points that account for the final price that a domain sells for.

Pareto's Law says that 20 of those data points account for 80% of the price. And most pro domainers deal with so many domains that they only use 20% of those 20 data points... so that means an average of 4 data points.

So it really comes down to how speedy you want a valuation, and which person you ask... which data points they use... etc.

I won't reveal my personal "quick" method today... but here are my results:

For a quick reasonable sale: 5k to 7k

For a medium sale to a serious end-user: $50k to $70k

For a long sale to an ideal end-user with budget: $100k
