I recently inquired about a domain for sale on Uniregistry.com and their broker was fantastic. He persistently followed up with me over a period of weeks without being too pushy and expertly attempted to close the sale for his client.

This experience makes me want to shift all my generic landing pages to Uniregistry. Expert salesmanship is something landers like DAN simply cannot provide.

Has anyone had similar experiences with Uniregistry?

What has been your experience with other large domain brokers, such as Afternic?

How big was your purchase $5xx, $15xx, $25xx ?

It’s a tough position if your a motivated buyer, and within striking range it can be a good thing, but for some buyers who are kicking tires they can get annoyed, I am glad you were able to get what you wanted though, along with good service which always helps.

I didn't actually make a purchase, but the asking price on this name was $XX,XXX.

There's no doubt their brokers are significantly more likely to get a sale for you compared to not using a broker. Most brokers I have used at DNS did a great job and worked very hard for a very long time to get the sale.

Assuming your domain(s) are listed on the Domain Name Sales UNI platform there's no need or benefit to using the UNI Landing Pages because you can easily refer the inquiry or offer to their brokers before you contact the buyer yourself or anytime later, makes no difference.

The UNI brokers will handle the sale process without regard to you using a different parking provider or where the name is registered at.

That is why places like DAN do not reveal the inquiry identity so you are not able to have a professional broker handle it. DAN and some other venues do not do real brokerage work but expect broker commission just because of their undesirable and too simple way they give you to communicate which in my experience is a major negative to using them.

I'm sure some of their messages are scripted, but the follow up and communication were truly outstanding.

I was in no way dealing with a bot.

This is something more domainers should do -- test out the brokerages by showing interest in a domain and seeing how they respond.

From my direct experience, I was highly impressed with Uniregistry's sales team.

I actually also think they are pretty good. And they route Chinese enquiries to a Chinese speaking broker.

They mostly use time-tested script messages to get a reply or if no response in a long time. Once the buyer responds the sales work can be customized to the buyer and situation in many cases I have experienced. IMO, a DNS/UNI broker is usually good at the job, with some occasional exceptions.

However, their work depends on which broker is handling it to a good degree which is why I like the capability to hand select a preferred broker vs a random broker via a drop-down list. After a while you realize who the best brokers are.

I've had an ongoing bad experience with their brokers (multiple brokers). I once inquired about a domain name about 6 years ago. Since then I continue to receive emails periodically from a broker saying their name is xxxxxxxxxxx, and they have recently been assigned brokerage for the domain name. They would like me to make an offer (which I told them initially my final offer). I have replied at least a dozen times to please remove me from the email list. To take me off the distribution list for that name. To please stop harassing me about that domain name. But they keep sending me the emails... Can't wait for the next one.... woohoo...

@DN_Hunter From a seller's perspective, this isn't a terrible thing. I like persistence in a sales team, even though it seems to have gone too far in this case.

A minor nuisance for you? Yes. If you contact their support team, I'm sure they will take care of it.

I asked about a domain parked at Uni a long time ago and the brokers there still ask me about it every 2-3 months.

Does he ask you by email? That is automatic, I have to block the email address

Every 2-3 months is not intrusive.

This is exactly the kind of salesmanship I'd like from a broker.
