I have noticed a questionable domaining etiquette practice lately.

As domainers we all list each domain we want to sell at as many domain marketplaces as possible. Each domain name is unique. Only 1 of a kind.

Do you list your domain name with a Buy It Now at only 1 Marketplace?
or
Do you list your domain name with a Buy It Now at all Marketplaces you have it listed at?

Please vote and/or share your thoughts here in this thread

I just created a poll here on my Twitter...
https://twitter.com/MediaBrandingVP/status/1171787279863635970

Please retweet the tweet since I believe there are quite a bit of domainers on Twitter also who I would like to see their thoughts and comments from. Vote there if you have a Twitter account and share your comments there if you have a Twitter account also.

Thanks.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
i put same bin in all marketplaces in one shot.. that makes customer more confident.. different prices or make offer in some places and bin in some places make them confuse.

I voted no although should say that I do have dual Sedo/Afternic BIN if, and only if, the domain is fast transfer enabled. My understanding is that the system prevents dual selling as it checks availability at time of someone buying it in those cases. In no other situation do I deliberately have more than one BIN place.

I agree with Riz that different prices in different places would look suspect (even if in a domainer view there are cost reasons to justify the difference).

I must say, I am wondering if there is any gain of having multiple place listings. I had thought it should lead to more sales, and it must to some degree, but for most part if you have a lander enabled, I am wondering about in future just listing each domain name at my preferred place for that domain name. Is anyone else already doing that?

Thank you for your votes and comments @Riz M. & @Bob Hawkes

Looking for more votes and comments on your thoughts of how many BIN's you are using when listing your domain names @ multiple marketplaces that you have BIN's placed on.

Thanks!

It would be interesting to hear if anyone who did list a BIN at more than one place simultaneously had a sale at both, and if so were there penalties from the marketplace that did bot get the name.

I currently have BIN on Both Dan and Afternic....do to commissions, Afternic is priced higher, Dan Lower, and hopefully that sways them to buy at Dan. Im not worried about different prices looking "suspect "....that's like say every car should be the same price at every dealership...no..I buy what I want, for the price I like, at the place I like...

BTW...I learned something about FAST TRANSFER the other week.....which everyone should know and why I say multiple prices is nothing worry about...

Afternic FAST TRANSFER list your name on say 100 other selling platforms .....well I tested this with NAME.com.....and well what you will find is, the same name you have listed as FT on Afternic. WILL have a higher price on NAME.com. I have no names listed there, but FT will say its for sale there, and the mark up is do to the fact both sites want their part of the commission.

Fast Transfer if you are using it....is already showing your name at DIFFERENT PRICES across multiple platforms. So If you want to set different prices where you actually have them listed ...go for it!

EXAMPLE

Afternic MY SET PRICE (29888)
https://www.afternic.com/domain/arpilot.com

NAME.com (FAST TRANSFER PRICE (34,371)
https://www.name.com/domain/search/ar pilot

This is something I noticed a few weeks ago and have been meaning to share and talk about

If I recall correctly, there's a thread dedicated to Afternic partners that mark up your Afternic partners.

Bob,

I've had this happen at least three times where I've had names listed with BIN prices at different marketplaces sale within hours of each other. Twice the names were sold via GoDaddy premium listings in the middle of the night and then sold a few hours later via Sedo. I notified Sedo as soon as I saw the emails that the domains were no longer in my possession as they had already been transferred to the new owner via GoDaddy. Sedo cancelled the transactions and refunded the buyers. In one instance Sedo made my info available for the buyer in case they wanted to pursue legal action. The other time they thanked me for my quick response. No actions were taken against my account by Sedo. Another time a domain sold at Sedo for the BIN price and shortly afterward on Bido. I informed Bido and they cancelled the sale and refunded the buyer their money. No action was taken on my account by Bido.

Interesting coupla sales stories. Thanks for sharing @boziffous.

So with those overlapping sales happening to you twice before, i am very curious as to what you are doing now.

Are you still listing and including BINs at multiple locations for the same domain name, or did these (2) past crazy multiple sales change your own multiple BIN listing protocol?

Make offer on DAN min bid $500 for all names ( except 4 or 5 with higher min bids)

Sedo has various min bids or none at all (except 1 BIN on Sedo)

Testing afternic with a mixture of BIN and make offer listings
