Forwarding acquired GD expired domain to GoDaddy listing URL

Here's what I'd like to do:
  1. Acquire a domain from Godaddy expired auction.
  2. Once it's in my account, immediately use GD domain manager to list it on Afternic.
  3. Once the domain is available in GD domain search, note the URL and set up domain forward to that URL.
Anyone typing the domain will be taken to its listing on Godaddy with a BIN price so immediate purchase is possible.

Has anyone tried this approach?

Search on main godaddy website may or may not always work. Country-specific forwarding (to localized GD versions) may or may not work if a long URL is entered. Unfortunately. It happened before.

The following seems to be working though, including BIN domains:

https://auctions.godaddy.com/trpItemListing.aspx?domain=domainnamehere.com

(afternic listings are available on GD auctions as a part of global distribution)

The domain will expire 2020-01-21 but the page shows "Time Left: 76D 6H" which may be confusing to buyer. Also, what will happen after 76 days (the domain will still have more than 70 days before it expire)?

I want to use a GD BIN page as my "landing page" for easy purchase. @Joe Styler, will the URL remain the same until the domain expires?

I beleive "time left" means an auction listing time, which the afternic system will likely renew (instantly).
It may be confusing for the buyer. On the other hand, the buyer may feel that he should purchase ASAP.

Interesting angle. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of using GD's auction/search/whatever page with BIN and unchanged URL to function as landing page for some of my domains.

Another solution of "time left" issue might be listing GD-regged domains on auctions.godaddy.com separately. Such listing will prevail then (it will be used instead of afternic-based one).
However, in this case the rule to use escrow.com for sales >5K will likely apply.

on your own domain traffic?

Afternic can handle much higher and it's simpler. Even though a freshly acquired GD expired domain does not qualify for Afternic MLS, I can still use it and sell via GD. Such "lander", if can be made a clean and simple GD page, will be good for buyers, imho.

It's only for certain type of my domains for low price, quick sale. For high-value domains, I'll stick to my own landers and negotiate.

The point is with GoDaddy there are three types of landing pages.
1. General lander with search mechanism, list of alternatives.
2. Lander for domains in your account portfolio/asset on GoDaddy
3. Lander for domains listed in auction.

Each of the above has its specific URL syntax (link), and it can be automated for all or selected domains from your website.

I believe you want something similar to this:
https://namecape.com/domains/userg-com

try to leave or close the page. Modal window with links to popular marketplace landers pops up. Click on GoDaddy.
Same logic for Sedo, Afternic, Epik, DAN and the rest.

Thanks. I just need test to see whether GD accepts such URL in its domain forward function.
It will likely not accept it. GD does not like to forward domains to godaddy...

And what makes you think every visitor to your domain landing page will click the BUY NOW or Make Offer button?

Fact is that 99% won't. Learn more about cart abandonment rates across various industries.

On the other hand, if you are creative enough, you can make full use of exit-intent technology. You can configure your domain landing page such that option to purchase from external marketplace(s) is triggered as an afterthought. The option will be hidden and only pop up once, when the potential buyer attempts to close or leave the landing page or navigate away from your site. Simply put, when you have absolutely nothing to lose.

Check again on this link:
https://namecape.com/domains/userg-com
try to leave or close the page and see DNHat creativity in action.

You cannot forward a domain registered at GoDaddy to GoDaddy. You can if the domain is registered somewhere else, or you can point it to the Afternic listing.
To my understanding, the OP is not talking about forwarding in the real sense or per se. What he has in view is the correct link (URL) syntax to the domain landing page on GoDaddy marketplace/listing.

@Joe Styler , I find listing domains for sale from the domain manager within Godaddy is an excellent solution by adding the sales page during the process. Unfortunately, as I posted in https://www.namepros.com/threads/godaddy-bugs.1137384/page-4#post-7371121,

=====
If you would like to list the domain in the Afternic system through the GoDaddy beta version please try to coplete the listings directly at Afternic.com. As the GoDaddy beta version is new it sometimes fails to create the listings.

If you would like to you can alternatively list the domain in GoDaddy only through auctions.godaddy.com -> List a Domain.
=====

that process is not reliable yet.

You can point to a sales lander by updating your nameservers to NS3 and NS4.Afternic.com.

I wouldn't recommend listing domains for sale on auctions and Afternic separately. If you do this they act as 2 distinct listings. It may be what is causing the errors on the List for sale option in your domain contol center.

With two distinct listings you have to manage each one if you want to change the price, or if one sells, you need to manually delete the other listing that didn't sell, etc.

You are better off listing only through Afternic and managing one listing. You can point your domains to those nameservers and you will get a for sale landing page applied.
