Epik's partners in the Alt-Tech community are hard at work building the future of the web. A new product is under development that combines conventional search with search/crawling of Blockchain-based domains which are currently invisible to conventional search. The project needs a brand.

Specification
  • .COM only
  • No hyphens
  • Up to 9 characters but prefer 6 or less
  • Can be brandable or a word
  • Pronounceable
  • Suitable as a verb, e.g. "Google it", "Bing it"
  • Enduring/Timeless - it should be the future of search, Blockchain and beyond

Budget
  • Up to $25,000
  • Preference for a good value but will consider a premium name

Background for Context

Conventional search engines such as Google and Bing crawl conventional domains. As emerging Blockchain domains and other alternative domains become significant, their content will also need to become part of the field of search, something that is currently not possible with established search engines.

Epik is building broad support for Blockchain domains. Epik will make it easier than ever to manage Blockchain domains from the Epik control panel, sell and lease them in the Epik marketplace, and also deposit whois records in WhoQ.com which is on track to be launched at ICANN 64 in Kobe next month.

Blockchain domains will resolve via the Epik DNS resolver and the Epik VPN. These are both free and help make Blockchain domains work just as well as any conventional domain and does not depend on ICANN's timetable to open the name spaces.

One of the critical challenges for Blockchain domains is discoverability. This is where a next generation search engine becomes important. It must combine conventional search with the ability to also crawl Blockchain domains. Therein lies a gap in the market.

To see the initial progress on Anonymous search, you can test drive the Anonymize search engine here:

https://search.anonymize.com/

Additional search results from the Blockchain domain world will come online along with further UX improvements for the search.

Next Steps

We expect to select finalist domains in the next 7-10 days and conduct a poll for the leading candidates. A final selection will be made soon.
