The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
After looking at the landing page it appears to be a brand new company which means that probably someone actually went to BrandBucket and searched for a name and found this name opposed to just typing in the name in search and following the landing page. Seems like BrandBucket actually created this sale which is pretty impressive.
IMO, Brandbucket deserves A LOT of credit for this sale due to their "above-and-beyond" performance.

I just noticed the domain name was eventually revealed on this thread... I'm even more shocked now. 90k for nium... nium?? Am I missing something? lol. Again though, amazing sale and congrats!
nium.com is an AWESOME domain...at least, I thought so when I first acquired it 15+ years ago... (y)

I think we sometimes overthink things...remember, an industry has been built with this in mind.

That's amazing....Did you ever think of developing it or were you just waiting for the right time to sell?

If this makes sense, I always had a feeling that this domain name was destined for the right buyer.

Great sale man! Is it you who fix the 90K or BB? How long did you put in there till the miracle happened?

After years of sitting on the domain name and getting small offers, BrandBucket appraised it for its worth.

In the end, BrandBucket deserves a lot of credit for even making the deal happen...right place, right time.

Wow seriously? Dont think it would sale up to that price if you list is somewhere. Kudos to you for choosing BB. If I may ask here, when do you start to list it in BB for that price?

No doubt the buyer was highly motivated... I believe the domain would have sold, regardless.

That said, BrandBucket appraised the domain name for much more than I would have asked.

So, the sale would still have been made...but for a lower net return (even after commissions).

ETA: The domain name was submitted, accepted and listed on BB just about one year ago...

Honestly, the Buyer was acquiring, regardless...IMO, BrandBucket made the deal happen for other reasons.

Can you please say amount of their first offer and subsequent offers? A reason I ask is the chance of anyone else holding out for 90k (on a domain such as NIUM likely worth a lot less) plus saying no to lots of other offers would be extremely small.

An exception would be Rick Schwartz and his big sales because he holds out forever by not needing money, something very few if any of us could do.

Congrats on the sale. One thing is clear from this sale you weren't too hungry for money otherwise you would have long forgotten you once had such a name, by this I mean you would have long sold it even before it got to the point of you listing it at BrandBucket.

Thanks for your comments...with all due respect, your post is just simply errant on so many levels.

First, I was offered money some would have grabbed because they are seasoned 'domain flippers'.

Second, "selling" is knowing what you have and to hold accordingly; my case is proof-in-point, no?

Third, there are no exceptions: you're either in the game to 'flip' or you're in it to 'sell'...it's up to you.

Finally, without sounding arrogant, the likes of Rick Schwartz, IMO, is industry-promotion unto itself.

Case in point: note that my sale of NIUM/COM did not hit Domain Name Journal... it may never will.

I approached BB simply because my outbound efforts came up short...I had great faith in the domain name.

I'm always hungry...but not so much as to sell a domain for cheap, only to buy one overpriced from a flipper.

To add, first offer was an inbound for $375.00 (back in 2007)...I might have taken $3,000.00 at the time.

Other offers later came in from $795.00 to low $x,xxx.xx...obviously, I would have been foolish to do so.

Flippers Gonna Flip... I got this as a 'drop' so I had nothing to lose (except renewal fees) by holding out.

Bottom Line: I figured this domain's worth to be a minimum of $30,000.00... many said that I was crazy.

Thanks... but think about this for a moment: some Domainers look to Rick Schwartz as a "success idol";
yet, his success comes at the expense of those who chose to Drop, Flip or Short-Sell his 'success story'.

Just a thought.

So, Happy New Year in advance :)
Thanks...honestly, for where I am in this point in time, I wish I had held out (but I had a commitment to BB).
