Hello, I think it would be pretty useful to keep track of all LLLL.com sales , even the little ones under $100 so that , pretty soon , when the available LLLL.com will be finished , we`ll have a better idea on market prices.

It is important that these sales are confirmed. So before to post, make sure payment went OK.

I will start with todays` Sedo confirmed sales:

FISE.com 2,700 Euros
TSRT.com US $760
VEUP.com US $1,700

Also, I found interesting to see this average LLLL, getting bids up to $51 and reserve not me. It says it all.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Ok, interesting. I will read that one too.

At the same time, I liked the basics described by Roger Dawson, and one can use that knowledge and extend it with the newer tricks.

I haven’t read other books you mentioned, but saying no (and pretending IDGAF) was exactly how I negotiated my best 2 sales to date.

negotiations are fun. But it takes time, patience, good amount of great domains, etc.

I’ve sold five domains last year: 18K + 8K in Feb-March, 16K +1.5K + 1K in Oct-Dec. Revenue-vise, I’m very happy. But I’m not happy about worthless 6 months between March and October.

This year, I changed the strategy. I don’t negotiate. I just use realistic BIN + payment plan. 20 sales to date (7 of which on a payment plan) for a total amount of around 17K. I’m would be more happy about this year than the previous one if the tendency continues.

my best "NO" sale took over a year to close at an equivalent of $148K USD

what is a realistic BIN ?

You basically proved what I said above -- you should own great domains and then you can use your skills to negotiate. I simply don't own the domains that can be sold for 6 figures in normal circumstances. I've got very few good one-word .orgs that can possibly be sold for high 5 figure if I'm very lucky (as the owners of star.org were lucky to sell it for 225K to some crypto-related biz). But I'm not willing to wait for that magic moment and I just set it at a 50K BIN.

Your sale price is sweet. That's why I started looking at CVCV (and similar) patterns. I realized that BOMA, SOLA or something may possibly fetch that price.

what is a realistic BIN ?

Not applicable to what we discuss in this thread, I guess. I don't know a realistic bin for SOLA.com because it can be 25K, 250K or even seven figures as the sale of VIVO.com shows.

But for something like interview//org (currently for sale at Flippa) one cannot ask 100K and expect it to sell in a foreseeable future. You can leave it at 10-20K and wait for a few years. I would say that 3 to 8K is a more realistic price for a domain like this. I took the example off the top of my head. I didn't make a research on a domain so I might as well be wrong. I didn't check how many extensions are developed. If .io and .co are for sale at 2K then it devalues .org even more (more choices).

Anyways, I'm not arguing with you, Frank. But we're currently on the different levels in this game for various reasons. :xf.wink:

You probably meant Levine

Yes, Levine. Corrected. Thanks for the note.

So, has this sale changed your mind about the price for sola.com?. Domain market changes every day.

Indeed, it does. And I increased the price for one of my CVCV .io domains :xf.wink:

Yes, I think I'm getting a better understanding of its value. I checked SOLA companies on LinkedIn -- quite a few potential end-users as well.

Sola.com currently belongs to Zeiss.

This is the story of the domain and former owners, Sola international

1956: A group of optical technicians in Adelaide, Australia, begin developing plastic lenses.
1960: Sola is incorporated as Scientific Optical Laboratories of Australia.
1979: Sola is acquired by Pilkington PLC.
1993: AEA Investors acquires Sola from Pilkington.
1995: Sola completes an initial public offering of stock.
2001: In a partnership with Safilo USA, Sola introduces eyeglasses with curved lenses.
2004: Carl Zeiss AGG and EQT Partners AB announce an agreement to acquire Sola.

Good news: Is not in use, so it may be for sale.
Bad news: Zeiss is a huge company.

Anyone following the recent Namejet auction results?

Looks like over the last 2 weeks, only about ~30 domains out of 150 sold were below $500

And the overall quality of all those 150 seemed to have been quite poor as well (imho, I'd probably only bid on 10 out of those)

Slowly over time the quality names continue to find homes in safer hands ie) Taryn

Once in those hands you can never shake them out for cheap. Still lots in Chinese portfolios, a good majority are under water, many have been shaken loose, but more to come. It’s quality over quantity.

NameJet as an organization is not doing much to find new inventory sources, one of which includes making it easy for domain holders to sign up to sell new inventory. Just same recycled over reserved domains keep going thru the platform.

my expectations
Premium western 4llll.com will shoot to 1500$ floor price
Chinese premium 4llll.com will also increase to 1500$ or less floor price

4llll .com will see the minimum floor of 250$

I hope the prices do not explode more than this so we do not see the Chinese bubble again

I would not go that far, but activity is back, 2019 has been definitely a much better year compared to 2018. This graph is showing the trend well:

Does someone have an updated figure of the total developed LLLL.com sites?

Thanks in advance.

things like RVEG.... TIXW

in fact I was recently contacted by a guy who has some kinda brand of tix watches... and he wanted to abbreviated it to tixw... I think he was offering like 500.. I said 1k... he said maybe later.. guess I should write him again now

That TIXW rang a bell, I owned a similar one, but now recall that this was one from a 2015 ebay auction that you must have sniped me on to win! (I confirmed in email this did happen and I lost the auction) Did you ever hear back from the guy or sell it?

What are you going to do with it?

Like most domainers do...probably just HODL. Won't be letting it go unless it's a special offer due to it's rarity. IMHO though since there are only 676 of each ABBB, ABBA, AABB, BBBA it would seem they are currently undervalued which is a direct result of the CHIP bubble burst. It's not an easy type of domain to replace in a portfolio as they aren't often seen at auction and normally it's going to be very contested if you are bidding.

On a lighter note my last name begins with "N" and I'm also a triplet so the NNN kinda has a bit of sentimental value :). I'm a triplet with the last name N, holding an ABBB.com triple repeat with NNN. I believe that is called synchronicity.
