Yes, what a sale RX.com for $1 million!

As of writing this it is still directing to Sedo servers, but since the sale was (in addition to being on NameBio this morning) announced on Twitter yesterday by Dave Evanson so the sale is supposedly totally firm. He had been recently seeking $2.5 million and $1.9 million for it on Twitter.

It is now the highest LL .com domain sale on NameBio in 2019 (OL had sold NamesCon for $900,000). If we look at all time it is the 10th highest on NameBio, with FB and Me being the highest at $8.5 and $8.0 million (see complete NameBio LL list).

Obviously RX has special meaning, and not surprised it reached the million mark.

So how much does Sedo gets from it: 150K ?

RX is usually is usually used as medical prescription, could the new owner be mindful of that or has other plans for it.

Yes RX comes from Latin recipe meaning 'to take', and I think it is likely to be a medical company or service although we don't yet know end user (status currently listed in transfer). Another possibility is it was acquired as a domain investment as some other high value LL have been.

I would think more. Rex.com would get this but RX.com shouldve been 8m

Also thinking this went extremely low. Great domain and who would wouldn't want a million bucks, but for such a rare LL.com with significant meaning I still think it should have sold for significantly more. Like, we're talking at least 4 or 5 times as much. Maybe the seller needed some funds..

Edit: Guess I was wrong. Of the last 10 LL.com sales on NameBio only 3 of them reached 5 figures. WOW!

I think it is important to keep in mind that this was a domainer to domainer sale, so in essence in the same way we only buy domains at a fraction of what we think they will retail for, I presume the buyer here felt the same. I don't know how urgent the seller was to make a sale, but the broker did mention the name several times on Twitter, lowering the ask each time, so I presume that meant there was some urgency to sell.

Well that makes sense if it was domainer to domainer.

Domainer to domainer makes perfect sense @Bob Hawkes! Medical/Insurance is a multi-billion dollar industry here in the states, so a term like RX to the right company would make me think big bucks. Much more than the 3.7 for HG.com or 1.2 for LA.com... The buyer definitely got a fantastic deal here! No matter what the price, if both the buyer and seller are satisfied that's all that matters in the end. Congrats to both for reaching a deal and completing the sale!!

buyer got a real steal, seller must have been desperate or had good plans for the money
