Epik has been incubating an alternative to EventBrite at the request of an Epik client who was booted by EventBrite and for which they found EventBrite's 10% commissions to be too high as well as wanted the ability to accept crypto as payment method. We are now finalizing the brand name and would like to invite some domain industry input on name selection.

One thing that was classy about @Ategy.com is that although we had agreed about the maximum price, we did not work out the details. As such, there was a bit of blind faith there as I somewhat knew that FullVenue.com was the only real contender. We ended up working out a win-win at a fair price. It also turns out that @Ategy.com has a lot of experience with the event marketing industry so this has proven quite useful.

We went with FullVenue.com. We have our winner.
Congrats to the winner well done.

Even though my entry didn't win (Eventized) I agree the winning entry was better.

Epik may be the beset friend of domain investors. You folks not only provide top-notch services to domain investors and listen to our needs, but also have become the end user for our domains. Good on you. Please come back and buy more.

We went with FullVenue.com. We have our winner.

The terms were agreed this morning with the seller. The purchase price was $8,500, comprised of $5000 in cash and $3500 in Epik account credit to the seller. The seller was already in the process of moving to Epik but will now move fully.

Thanks to all for the great input on this difficult search!

FullVenue definitely sounds and looks clean without any ambiguity compared to others. TBH Though I hoped my name "HitVenue.com" would atleast be listed in the pool, I am happy that you were able to find the winner so soon . Congrats @Rob Monster . Thanks for stimulating domaining community with contests like this.

Hi Rob.

Full Venue

Indeed, that was the winner -- see above for the purchase announcement. I think it was a NamePros success story. Some folks say it won't play in Europe even though Venue is derived from Latin and then French. We'll see. Hope to get the site in ~ 2 weeks.

It should be ok in Europe too;
I think everyone can write Full, and most people know how to write "Venue"
French fact : Venue is linked to "venir", which means "to come"
We don't really say Venue very often, but we could say "Une venue", or "La venue de.."
For exemple we would translate "Les gens parlent de la venue de Vladimir Poutine", "People are talking about Vladimir Poutine's coming"

Epik Events
Epik Escrow
Epik Seach

Epik Whatever

I mean..... you really cannot get any more EPIK than that!! (y)

I would agree with this. Epik is a great brand per itself and I personally can easily remember names like "Epik Escrow" or "Epik Search"...just imo :)

Great insight, @MapleDots! I agree. Epik is so short that sub-brands based on it are still short but have the benefit of capitalizing on the brand equity of "Epik". A great example in China is Alibaba being commonly referred to as "Ali" so as a result the company has created many sub-brands such as AliSports.com for its sports economy, AliYun.com for its cloud services, and AliTrip.com for its tour services.

@MapleDots @lolwarrior @Kassey Lee .. Coincidentally I already brought up that thought with @Rob Monster .. but while I'd definitely agree if the baseline was Epic, I'm a lot more hesitant to have a two-word brand with one of them being an alternate spelling (Epik).

Simplii Financial in Canada

Recently launched sub brand of CIBC Bank

The spelling did not seem to bother them

I think Epik is Epic because of the difference and this is common nowadays.

I named my son Kameron instead of Cameron just to set him apart.

An early mentor at Procter & Gamble taught me that "Brands should not work too hard". In other words, you can have an overarching brand that has a certain broad promise that is to a certain audience, but then specific products with specific brands have their own promises.

P&G was a good training ground for me. I was there for 9 years. P&G was and is to shareholders, consumers and employees, as having a certain set of promises. On the other hand, specific brands Pampers, Charmin, Gillette, and Febreze have their own set of promises that tend to be fairly constant even as the product changes.

I view Epik as being a sort of promise -- it is a promise for "Digital Empowerment". Within that promise, we now have a growing suite of products, each with their own set of promises, that sit neatly under the "Brand Umbrella" of Digital Empowerment. The sequencing is very much market-driven.

Epik.com - Registrar and Digital Brand marketplace
Anonymize.com - VPN and Privacy tools
Sibyl.Li - High availability Hosting
Armored.net - Secure File Sharing
Us.Tv - Online Video Publishing
WatchMask.com - Video proxy
TrustRatings.com - Online reviews and ratings service (Q4)
Masterbucks.com - Online payments -- big upgrade on the way.
Chat-Rooms.com - Web-based secure chat (live as beta)

And coming soon:

Signdeck.com - Digital Signatures
FullVenue.com - Online event management
Search aggregator: This is the search engine brand for which we are seeking a brand.

Last but not least, we are working on:

- Smart Desktop: A smart dashboard that brings together the tools as the user's cloud-based, multi-platform, and AI-driven Smart Agent.

You can begin to see the pieces slotting into place with the overarching promise of Digital Empowerment. We are also adding ccTLD accreditations rapidly because we want to bring these bundled technologies to countries through ccTLDs in order to give emerging economies access to best in class solutions for digital empowerment.
