I think Epik is building the best ever Domain Lander in the history of domaining, and it really needs to be talked about extensively. That's why I am creating this discussion thread. A lot of thought process really goes into the project. And I can see (for the first time) a landing page that is built from the stand point of domainers rather than for just the marketplace itself.

Everything you have ever dreamt of getting or seeing in a professional landing page can be found in the new Epik marketplace landing page design.

Some of my Favorites Features:

1. The ability to optimize your "domain for sale" landing page to actually rank on Google, displaying your sales pitch/domain description. I just did that with few of my generic domain names such as ASAP.TV, targeting certain keywords, and they are showing pretty well on Google. That's a huge plus in my marketing effort.

2. Being able to change background image is another huge one for me. If you are good with pictures and images, you will surely find this very useful. I did that with Nagasaki.org and the result was truly amazing, showing the city of Nagasaki right at the background.

There are too many positive features and I don't want to mention all of them, all alone :xf.grin::xf.grin:

So I am leaving you guys to share and discuss what you loves most or dislike about the new Epik marketplace and the landing pages.

The only negative for me is the checkout process. There are too many terms and conditions buttons to tick before checking out. It will be nice if they can streamline those into one beautiful big button :xf.cool:

They also need to place the checkout button directly under the payment options. Right now it is awkwardly place somewhere below at the sidebar, which I don't find cool at all.

Sales experience is also welcomed in this discussion. I haven't had any sells so far at Epik because I started using the marketplace just recently, but the future is looking so bright.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
It's not just SEO content but the whole creation process needs to be automated for handling large number of domains. Maybe Afternic's file upload is a good method to handle large number of domains.

Try our CSV import tool.

See in the footer of the Domain Manager:

It gives you this dialog:

This was developed by @Slanted (aka Joseph Peterson). We can extend it further if needed but that would be the easy framework for handling bulk operations.

Also, take a look at a couple of very early concepts in the works for new landing pages which will be added to the platform.

Hello Ala, glad to see you working to help us and Epik find solutions.

Your option 2 and 3 are nice. I will dig in a few mins and send a link to a site that has many of the options that would appeal to me. In short, I would like to have a buy now box, a lease to own box (interest option), rental box, make an offer box and a contact seller box.

I will dm the link once I find it...not wanting to promote another competitor to any of us! :xf.smile:

I have been wondering why MLS providers and domain registrars do not work together to develop some sort of API so that, for example, if I want to list a Epik-registered domain on Afternic, I just need to select the "List on Afternic" check box of the domain -- all done from inside the Epik UI. The current listing process is too time consuming and not reliable. Has Epik looked into such collaboration?

Think I just found something a little buggy...I've checked names transferred, newly registered as well as some old timers and the contact seller button seems to be missing when going to the marketplace landing page. I made sure the 'Enable Contact Us Widget' is checked.

Just a note about .in domains. You add privacy to them if a profile that uses it is applied, but the .in registry does not allow whois privacy. I think this option should be removed.

You also allow privacy for .ph and .com.ph, but e.g. at Dynadot and GoDaddy they do not allow it. Not sure what is correct here, because it seems the registry itself offers it for $10 a year...

A client named Pete shared a money-making Epik upsell hack with me earlier today. I invited him to comment here and take credit for this idea. It is a good one.

Sell a domain and then as you sell the domain, get the person who is buying the domain to upgrade to the Forever renewal using with your Epik affiliate code.

The .COM Forever renewal/transfer is $399 but there is a 20% affiliate revenue share on the opening order, so as they checkout, upsell them on the Forever renewal and make $80.

If you know a client who wants to do a lot of Forever registrations, we can sometimes to do bulk deals.

Affiliate program details are here:

Checking with @Sufyan Alani on the registry compliance audit. We have a conference call with .PH registry tonight as we plan to go big there.

I compose my content in word and when I try to copy and paste (using right click) into the 'content and media box', it automatically pulls up a link option that I can't seem to override.

Just wondering if there is any change or suggestion that can help me get around the 'link' feature popping up when I try to paste marketing content into the box.

EDIT/ADD: Rather than change what is built already, maybe add a box below that is just for written/typed information and not for posting links, videos, etc.

Would it be possible to simplify the way domains are listed for sale at the marketplace? For example when I want to adjust a price, I need to go through all the listing steps again. Unless I have missed something?

I get your idea -- grid view price update without changing the landers. Sedo and Afternic work this way. Let me review with @Ala Dadan but that should be easy. In the Domain Manager we show you your marketplace listings. We should make the prices editable right from that view. Good solution?

Yes, exactly. That would make things easier.

It should appear in the "Marketplace" tab of the Domain Manager. Every price will be editable with DHTML so that only the price changes and no page reload.

You will be able to change prices in real-time in about one second. That should be a productivity booster.

Do we need any other columns on that Marketplace view? Here is what displays now:

By the way, good input there from @Embrand. Much appreciated.

Yes, we are working on enhancing the process of listing domains on the marketplace. You will be able to edit the listing settings quickly and manage the offers within the domain page, also push the marketing content into the parked page, and the listing page on Epik Marketplace and/or your own marketplace.

Sorry, I missed your post in notices. I never get to the point of pasting a file as when I right click, the option to paste is over ridden by the 'link' prompt. There may be a step I am missing somewhere. I am now going to launch another browser to see if that is the issue. I will update.

Well, it is my goof. What I never did was click on the 'link' icon when it pops up. Once I do that, it pulls up another box that gives me the options to put in a url, text and title.

This is more advanced (and better) than options I have seen on other sites. Please forgive my ignorance and the waste of your time.

Hi Ala, as I said in the private message, I did not want to keep this issue rolling even after I found out what I thought was an error on my part turned out not to be. The good news is I have found a solution.

Others that may experience the same issue I was was having (right click paste function not working) can go back to the good old days and use 'CTRL + V' to get their copied word/notepad info to paste into the box.

WHEW! now I can start the process of getting my incredible sales pitches attached to my individual names. :xf.wink:

I think the watchlist is broke, i have tried different domain in different list but it always redirect me to the registration page. Another thing would be why i always needed to checkout the cart to watch a domain? can't we watch a domain without redirect anywhere?

Watchlist is a legacy feature that is being deprecated.

We have an upgrade coming to that area that will allow customers to get non-exclusive, no-auction backorders at standard reg-fee on a post-pay basis. This way people don't have to tie up capital but can chase a lot of potential dropping inventory without high backorder fees and with a catch rate that is better than hand-registration and does not require coding APIs.

In the meantime, what we can do for you is to give you a discounted rate on refundable backorder service and provide some account credit. Just PM us and we'll assist there to help you with securing dropping names at reg-fee.

Thanks Rob but i was talking about bargain domains/daily diamonds not the pending delete list. There won't be any replacement for a watchlist feature?
