I think Epik is building the best ever Domain Lander in the history of domaining, and it really needs to be talked about extensively. That's why I am creating this discussion thread. A lot of thought process really goes into the project. And I can see (for the first time) a landing page that is built from the stand point of domainers rather than for just the marketplace itself.

Everything you have ever dreamt of getting or seeing in a professional landing page can be found in the new Epik marketplace landing page design.

Some of my Favorites Features:

1. The ability to optimize your "domain for sale" landing page to actually rank on Google, displaying your sales pitch/domain description. I just did that with few of my generic domain names such as ASAP.TV, targeting certain keywords, and they are showing pretty well on Google. That's a huge plus in my marketing effort.

2. Being able to change background image is another huge one for me. If you are good with pictures and images, you will surely find this very useful. I did that with Nagasaki.org and the result was truly amazing, showing the city of Nagasaki right at the background.

There are too many positive features and I don't want to mention all of them, all alone :xf.grin::xf.grin:

So I am leaving you guys to share and discuss what you loves most or dislike about the new Epik marketplace and the landing pages.

The only negative for me is the checkout process. There are too many terms and conditions buttons to tick before checking out. It will be nice if they can streamline those into one beautiful big button :xf.cool:

They also need to place the checkout button directly under the payment options. Right now it is awkwardly place somewhere below at the sidebar, which I don't find cool at all.

Sales experience is also welcomed in this discussion. I haven't had any sells so far at Epik because I started using the marketplace just recently, but the future is looking so bright.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
How do use IP whitelisting? I have a dynamically allocated IP address but how do I find the range for my location. Your site says "If you have a dynamically allocated address, then I suggest entering an address range, typically 0-255, on the last block of numbers." How can I test and confirm the range? Last time I entered just one IP address and I was locked out and had to ask your support by email to remove it.

Just try entering 0-255 as suggested and that will cover the whole range. Usually it is just the last set of numbers that changes (until your ISP decides to change something). For a dynamic IP there's probably no way to be more precise.

If you don't have a static IP, I think two options:

1. Use a VPN that will give you one. The paid version of Anonymize.com will do this. If you want a dedicated cloud IP, we can arrange it. We run our own IPv4 /22.

2. Use one of the other security features, e.g. 2FA, Google Authenticator.

If you are REALLY concerned about account security, put your high value domain domains in a dedicated account and request our free MAX LOCK service.

Anyway, you have some optons. Just contact our support team and we'll fix you up or PM me or @Taylor Ervin our VPN expert.

Regards,
Rob

A question and a suggestion.

Q: Can you set up default to have all www.domain.com automatically redirect to https://domain.com? Currently I have set up several domain forwards but the "www" does not resolve. Where can I go to change that?

S: Godaddy has a nice feature of previewing the site when you set up domain forward, so I can make sure spelling etc. is correct right away without having to check the actual site later. Can you add this function as a button next to domain forward address box?

I checked your case -- you had set up forwarding for root, but not www or wildcard. Check it now and also check the control panel to see how it was done. We'll have @Ala Dadan check out the forwarding UX to see if we can make this more intuitive. The solution we have is very versatile.

I created an account and submitted my E-Mail addresses as recommended to collect my domains data online. These included the E-Mail of my wife which I have used a handful times in the past.

Then I did my first handregs at Epik. Order confirmation and Invoice were sent to all those E-Mail addresses including the one of my wife. I expect more need for explanation at home than usual.

How do I ensure that E-Mails are only sent once, to the registrant address, to avoid such self-spam experience? (Don´t tell me to delete the other addresses - or divorce :grumpy:.)

This post reads like tosh or a joke. However, it could imply a bit of a privacy issue.

It appears that if I create a landing page with a domain registered at Epik, the system automatically adds three A records with the following hosts: www, *, (blank). I'm not familiar with DNS, so these records cover all possibilities of user input such as http://, https://, www, https://www ?

I also noticed domains transferred to Epik have no A records. Does it mean I need to add all these 3 records if I want to forward a domain to another URL? Can they be included in each domain by default?

Sorry I have so many questions, because I've just started using Epik. I'm most impressed with its landing page design so far.

If you want the system to set DNS for any new creates or incoming transfers, set up a default Domain Profile here:

https://www.epik.com/support/knowledgebase/how-to-create-and-apply-domain-profiles-to-domains/

The default handling otherwise is that the domain inherits the old name servers.

However when transferring from Godaddy, and some others, when you leave them they break your DNS as soon as you leave them.

The solution is that you can simply use our DNS for free before even starting your transfer. Our free Anycast DNS is probably faster than whatever you are using now.

You can manage your notification settings here:

https://registrar.epik.com/account/notifications/

If you want accounting emails to go to a different email address, we can make that happen. Just PM us with your unique request and we'll see if there is a general need.

Either way we will do what we can to keep your wife happy. Most spouses seem happy with large inbound sales and leases so we are focused there!

After creating landing pages for some 20 domains, I feel the process needs to be simplified. In my case, to create a landing page, I need three major steps: (1) Build | Park This Domain | Epik Premium Parking... (2) Marketplace | Place domain ... and (3) Marketplace | Transform domain to capitalize domain's name.

Here are some suggestions:
(1) Be able to create the Epik Premium Parking landing page from just one page.
(2) Be able to register a Landing Page Profile for defaults such as tag lines, minimum offer, and use of widgets.
(3) The word "parking" may is misleading because it reminds me of filling a page with ads, even though my landing pages are simply sales pages with no ads.

A bulk landing page creation via API or file upload may be a good solution.

The Epik Premium Parking landing page design is very powerful. To cater to domain investors, speed to handle large volume is vital.

Kassey - Good input there.

On the second page of the Marketplace listing wizard, the bottom of the dialog allows you to check the checkbox to activate the SSL lander. That saves a step.

As for what to call it, I am open to your suggestion on what to call it. We generally refer to them as "SSL Landers".

I would definitely recommend something like 'Sales Landing Pages'. I must admit I didn't even realise Epik did Landers till somewhat recently as I only ever saw a reference to Parking.

@Ala Dadan , Have you guys played with the landing page pricing recently?

It shows four digits after the dot - ex. £450.5678

Good catch. I put a bug bounty in your account just now. :)

That issue with decimals is due to currency conversion. The engineers will update that momentarily -- not sure if it gets into today's code deployment but have requested.

Thanks.

@Kassey Lee is killing it with these custom landers with his own images:

https://chinakitten.com/

I would probably add some SEO content since there is no keyword density.

Perhaps Kassey will share his method for sourcing images.

I know a lot of folks have success here for royalty-free images:

That's an excellent idea .. and makes sense. We have added the task of designing marketing pages for landers to our list.

thank you
Ala

Scroll down on the Lander editor to the section below called "Content & Media" and try using the WYSIWYG editor to add original content.

Ugh, looks like I missed the Content & Media section completely!

Never went below the SEO section, love the WYSIWYG editor !

Thanks for pointing this up!

Do not forget that you can embed videos too! www.CbdSOS.com

Plus table with Prices of similar sales or links to your other domains!

And use google analytics to see how long people spend on your page or how often and where they are coming from and leaving to.

Thanks for the kind words. See MaturityLab.com for example of contents. My main task right now is to move all my custom landers to Epik, but the lander creation process is too time consuming, so I just use a bare bone "template". This SSL Lander (or whatever more friendly name you'll call it. My suggestion is "Sales Lander Pro") is stunning and powerful and should be just one-click away from each domain's menu and be done from just one page. Unless the creation process can be driven by my database, I won't consider the SEO aspect.

My favorite free image site is Pixabay.com.

We will look into making the SEO work more accessible.
Also, take a look at a couple of very early concepts in the works for new landing pages which will be added to the platform.
It's not just SEO content but the whole creation process needs to be automated for handling large number of domains. Maybe Afternic's file upload is a good method to handle large number of domains.
