I'm not sure if there is any service like that, although it isn't a bad idea.
Though it's not particulary time consuming work to do either. Unless of course you want to check large number of names.

1. check the domain itself, just to see what's up
2. do a search on expireddomains.net
3. do a search in google with the quotation marks as follows: "domain.com". If the name is for sale at anywhere else that isn't linked with expireddomains, like dan.com, efty.com, or namepros, it will show up in the search engine.
