Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I have received a "Contest Like" and I can't find on which domain it was in the activity center, how can I know which domain was liked and what does that even mean?
thanks

I see 'make offer' option for my domains. Cheers @GrantP for considering sellers suggestions.

Switched a domain to Make Offer, but when seeing the domain on the premium marketplace search, it shows the price

If you switch to "make offer", what is the percentage kept by SH on a sale ?

Just saw that myself @JudgeMind and I like the new options in regards to logos but that 1000 points for a redesign push feels steep. Although, I guess if they agree with you in their review, a redesign is complimentary.

@GrantP good features added...logo redesign is not helpful for sellers it is more of another monetising factor for SH.

Anywho.. I tried to set make offer for one of my names...I have 6 names in premium listings.. I got message saying that I already used this feature... Apparently SH is unable to calculate 10% for 6 names.... Is there a minimum of 10 premium listings required ?! To use make offer on one name ?

The option of sell in marketplace is not working...
When tried to submit from my entries section...where sell in marketplace option is given under unregistered names...the window opening with details of commission...is simply showing "submitting..." For several minutes...lots of bugs...

@GrantP sorry I am editing again to add latest experience with your customer support...
I think they don't answer to why I was unable to list at make offer when I have 6 names in premium...they said it is 10% of 6... I said that would not even be a full name and it should be allowed to list 1 name at offer for people who have less than 10 names as premium listings...

The support is simply took 5 and 10 minutes break...I have to prompt again..to get some reply...

Apparently you need to take some quick changes in rules...either allow one name or mandate minimum of 10 premium listings to be eligible to list one at make offer...

This is really silly issue and support team is not at all aware of any particulars...they choose to go silent till I ask for a response !!

Will send the chat transcript in DM if you want to have a look...

Thanks,
Ravi

@YairDD you can see all details related to your contest entries..
From side menu
My entries > My contest entries

There you see all your submissions for contests and their ratings Contest holders....

* Yes it takes 24 hours to get updated in search index if it changes to "make offer"

@NYJimbo the same commission which was accepted by SH for each name is applicable in "make offer" scenario...but you will be having a chance to accept/reject any offers...

@YairDD you can also check the same through my entries through your name "Hi, xxxx" on right side top corner...

And you have to select sorting out...by date / rating / etc

@YairDD
There is a chance that other contest participants submitted your name... It is an option in SH

It says "Saving..." but never finishes.

Sometimes the server gets overwhelmed and can't handle too many contest submissions. This is happening a lot lately.

Once you switch a domain to "Make Offer", the Domain landing page will immediately hide the domain price, however you may continue to see a Buy It Now price in the main Marketplace page for up to 24 hours (until the search index has been refreshed).

Just switched one of my names to make offer. Really nice feature!
