Has anyone had much luck with the installment option? I currently have Bin and make offer but not sure if offering installment option as well might create confusion or paralysis in buyers because of too many options. Has anyone tested with all three options before? And if so, what where the results? Thx

You can have buy now price with option to pay in installments while having make offer option.
You just enter bin and activate installments; make offer will always be there.

Yes you can... I have done it, but looks overwhelming imo and I quickly removed it. That's why I am curious if anyone has actually tested.

I use the three options for all my listings: BIN, installments and Make Offer.

Most of the time people would use the "Make Offer" button, however in some cases a motivated buyer will click the BIN with or without installments.

People are not retarded and usually the more options you put on the plate the better chances your domain has to get sold... imo

Hi Wizard,

I don't understand what you mean. Can you elaborate?

Kind regards,

Reza

The question here is whether we will be able to see buyer's email as well when they send an offer. It helps to negotiate better deal after some research online about the company and motives of the buyer. Currently all we see is username and IP.

Have you gotten people on installments before?

You can communicate with buyer or seller, when you make counter offer. I'm doing that now. Email really wouldn't make any difference for me.

Good morning,

I wanted to hop in and answer some of your questions.
@werty, it actually stimulates your buyers quite a lot when enabling the installment option. As some domains are priced at a certain level, enabling installments simply enlarges your potential target group as the purchase becomes more accessible.

@ivbran, as we have made sure you can communicate with buyers directly through our negotiation window and all messages are forwarded to their designated email directly we did not see the need for providing the email itself. In addition, we want to rule out the option for our sellers to contact buyers directly as from that point on we cannot provide any insurances anymore. Communication outside the platform is not controlled by DAN.COM and in case of a dispute, we would not be able to assist you. However, we did recognize the need for knowing if a buyer represents a company or not. We, therefore, have made sure that all leads submitting an offer could also leave their company name. At this point, you do not only see their name, country, and IP but when given their company name as well.

Hope you all have a great day!

Hi @Reza @LaszloSchenk

Is it possible to restrict the traffic graph display per domain name? Some names have higher traffic stats than others and the stats could be a good selling point. To avoid reducing the chances of a sale for low traffic names (when the display traffic graph is selected via Settings), it will be nice to have the traffic feature per domain name.

Thanks.

I am just thinking aloud, I can't imagine it does sales any good when you look at the trustpilot widget and you see the most recent review is 1 star and someone saying "I will change my review once you refund my money for a product you can't deliver and something you never owned or had the rights to sell."

As a potential buyer it sucks to see that and may scream scam to other end users. This has been the most recent review for the last 18 hours as well I can't imagine this is good for sales and i'm not even sure you need it e.g. SEDO doesn't have it, godaddy doesn't etc.

Not sure i'm right about this as maybe overall it does increase trust?

They must have removed that one, all i see is 5 star reviews. That will increase trust

It is still there, been pushed down a few spots now. Point is it was the first review people saw for like 18 hours before the next positive review and i'm sure it's not dan's fault, but as a buyer that would have put me off immediately using the platform.

Good morning,

@Remi, we have made it possible for you to show the graph when the domain has more than 100 monthly views. However, I do agree that it could be nice beneficial to set this up per domain landing page. I will forward your suggestion to our team for reviewal.

@joro001, I completely agree with you if it were that the majority of the reviews would indicate this. As a domain marketplace, we need to utilize known review platforms such as Trustpilot in order to gain trust. However, unfortunately, we have to cope with some users that do not fully understand the market or the processes that leave a bad review. As we all know, reviews are most commonly left by users having a bad experience. Bearing that in mind it actually is great to see we score a great average with a 9.3 /10. It will only inspire trust and give your potential buyer the final push into proceeding with the payment. In addition, having only 5 and 4-star reviews will not be considered credible as well as no business could have happy customers only!

Have a great day!

@Reza

I would prefer to have a choice
to not display "for sale"
for selected domain names
for legal reasons

I'd prefer just showing a contact form instead
having a contact - not a buying focus

I know you need a sales commission
and I still might want to sell those names
to the right buyer

@LaszloSchenk it will be great if your team can make visible notifications on Dan.com for new (unread) leads and new (unread) any counter offers for exiting leads as its not always possible to trace received emails from Dan.com, such notifications will prevent missing new(unread) leads and counter offers.

The Dan bot doesn't seem to work for a push at Dynadot. I initiated the push a few hours ago, but it still hasn't been accepted by Dan.

Update: It was just accepted now, but probably manually.

We're working with Bodis at the moment to get this done. Google has to approve our setup first before we can proceed.

Don't focus on the one negative you see. There are +500 positive ones there. It's proven that the Trustpilot widget helps sales and builds trust, Sedo even recently activated using Trustpilot inspired by us: https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.sedo.com

I think this should help reduce most of these fake visits. Bodis is doing a great job at that. Most of the visits on my domains are not being picked up by analytics which mostly means bots are responsible. DAN should try work on that.

Hi Frank,

We don't plan to offer this since we've tested having a contact form in the past and that doesn't convert that well but might later down the road as we plan to diversify our landing page offering with quite some additional options. The problem with offering specific options that we know won't work that well is that some users will use it and then have a lesser good experience with us as when they use our full optimized landers.

So there's a tradeoff here to consider.

Kind regards,
Reza
