What domains do you have related to the new currency called Libra?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Don't take my word for it though. Examine the precedent case about currency. There is alot packed in this decision.

"Although there may have been a Swiss trademark registration, a reasonable person in the finance industry such as the Respondent, could not be assumed to know that a trademark registration existed for a unit of currency with worldwide recognition which is authorized by the legislature of the country that produces and distributes it. Respondent would normally be entitled to use "krugerrand" as a generic term."

Don't call it "Cryptocurrency" it's hurt me a lot.

There are only five "currency" which truly fit as cryptocurrency.

BitcoinCash
Bitcoin
ETH
Zcash
Hahaha.....yea, I get you. This subject is for another place, but I am with you. Lots on Twitter in this regards.

A little side story: A couple weeks ago, I was telling my 10-yr old son about Libra and domaining, valuable keywords etc. He started suggesting domains to register (cake.com, ice.com, cream.com). Even though I knew these were taken, I faithfully searched on godaddy just to keep up with the game -- all about the process right? :xf.wink:
He went about his way and came back with a written list of possible good domains. One of them was Loan//LBR in king. I was surprised this was available. I regged it and told him if I sold it we split the revenue. I hope I do at some point. Perhaps that will plant a formidable entrepreneurial seed in him. :xf.smile: .. and perhaps a PS4 - that he doesnt need :nailbiting:

A good reason to teach your kids why they’re clueless about adult ventures. And, a great way to teach them about how to eat a loss

Hahaha. A loss would also be a great lesson actually. However, you don't get to decide whether money will be lost 😂

I don’t have to decide when it’s a given.

Yes! Mr I_already_know in the house! I know your kind on this forum.
Keep in mind that even a $10 profit is a big win. Keep yupping, free speech - you are entitled to your opinion

You know that the symbol for Libra is not LBR anymore. It was changed to LIB according to the head of Calibra on Facebook, David Marcus.

I did the research. there is no LIB. Zero LIB. Marcus never talked about LBR and he never talked about LIB and he never talked about old and new tickers. There is no old ticker. why should there be a new ticker? The only thing we know is that in the images on calibra website we see LBR. Anyway, LBR is the most obvious ticker especially for a crypto that wants to be mainstream.
why do you say this fakenews? do you have domains with LIB you want to sell and then you tell us fakenews?

All jokes aside, someone else on this forum had some great foresight to note that if Libra catches on, people would probably nickname it to "lib" e.g. "I am selling my car for 100 libs" not "100 libras". Very plausible given the tendency to shorten/nickname things on social media. Therefore, even though there is no evidence at the moment that the ticker is LIB, I think LIB names will still have tremendous value, ticker or not!

I just posted in the other Libra thread. Y’all are wasting your time, money...

Anyone that registered “Libra” domains has -
1. Lost their money
2. Operated in bad faith.

Go back to domaining 101 and learn how this game works!
yea sure buddy u the man! just because u have $ yourself to blow on domains does that mean your crystal ball is all seeing?? thats the thing with seasoned domainers they think the past rules the future and what they say is gospel. meanwhile many of them are badmouthing a niche but secretly regging tons of them on the side.

The important thing is the ticker. For real money... On the calibra website the ticker is LBR which is the logical thing. as for lib and libs, for example nobody calls bitcoin bit or bits but bitcoin bitcoins or BTC... Nobody calls Dollar Dol or Dols...I repeat: the important thing here is the ticker.
