If you go to Youtube you will quickly discover most scammers are in India with a lot of youtube channels fighting the india call center scammers, so not surprising 91 CC used by the OP is the India Country Code.

Sadly, there are a lot of naive or inexperienced people who fall for scams every day, and I believe its our duty to protect this segment of society, rather than just laugh at them.

This is probably the same people calling you that they can fix a problem with your computer. You know the guys who says his name is Mark from Microsoft.

So how does the scam work? I have to send an itunes card number for a fake domain appraisal?

Where those calls get tricky are if you are a Google Adwords customer and the calls claims to be from Google, I usually just hang up but there were a couple calls when I was about to hang up when it turned out it really was my currently assigned Adwords account rep from the real Google.

They call on the 800# assigned to whatever business of mine and so I assume that when they say "This is Google" that it is some scammer but there have been times when the real Google has chosen to call me on that phone number, even though my toll free numbers are not assigned to my Adwords or Adsense account profiles.

You would be surprised how successful they are. It's a huge business in India which has a number of large scam call centers. The India Gov mostly casts a blind-eye to it. The scammers target USA, Canada and UK.

There's scams where the scammer has manged to steal 5 or even 6-figures by getting home buyers to wire funds to a bank account faking the escrow firm via a fake email address which looks like the Realtor.

There's also IRS tax return scams, social security fraud arrest scams and various fake refund scams plus lots of PC tech support scams about a fake virus. I think domain scams are something new. Go to YouTube to search for India Scammers and subscribe to few channels fighting the Indian scammers, its all very interesting.
