TLD-LIST.com is best source..
As the rates changes time to time...this site updates regularly and dependable..

https://tld-list.com/tld/com

It seems NameSilo is best option for now...considering first and second (1&1 , LCN) options in the above link are not so customer friendly..

Hope this helps..

Thanks

I believe these are current and in my opinion all good registrars with nice features:
  • NameSilo ($8.39 or $0.10 less if member of discount club)
  • Epik ($8.49)
  • Name.com ($8.25, not sure how long at)
  • GoDaddy ($8.17 - is that unrestricted? If so great rate!)

I'd be more concerned with which is the most securest register, but we all have different priorities.

Avoid 1&1 by all means.

The difference in price now be carried over to renewal period.
Real situation:
after luring me in with $6 transfer, they now want $39 for renewal. I dropped all the domains.
Time and money wasted.

That's not all. You can not edit your domain DNS to forward/land anywhere unless you pay for one of their hosting plans.
All considered, I think NameSilo is the best. IMO.

I alternate between NameSilo and Dynadot depending on who has the best deal at any given time. I consider them both to be secure, but I'd love to get @hawkeye 's opinion on the two.

I use NameSilo and Epik currently. I like the NameSilo interface, but the renewal is higher than transferring to Epik. @robmonster runs Epik. Gave me a decent deal on the domains there.

As far as security, I am told that Epik is pretty secure.

Epik is 8.10 if you prefund the account (crazy not to do so...savings of .39) and privacy is free. There are lots of other features...marketplace, crypto accepted, etc.

Of course another option is Domain Cost Club at $7.85 + $0.18 although you would need a subscription plan and also there is 5% fee for adding funds most ways.

???

I don't order any hosting plans at 1and1.
And DNS can be changed almost instantly there... like with any other registrar.
Forwarding also works.

I use 1and1 to transfer the domains in and out, or to reg and transfer-out later...
For past ~10 years I have ordered mid X,XXX domains there... also many sold to endusers.

Regarding autorenewal...
It can be disabled in a bulk via contract.ionos.com

Regarding $1...
It is limited to 1 domain and for new 1and1 customers only (so-called "welcome offer").

p.s. To OP...
Per my observation, you definitely have the problems with CAPSLOCK on your keyboard.

I've canceled my account with them. So I'm not interested nor care what they do, are doing or will do. I've related my experience and let the OP do the due diligence.

If you have a large amount of domains. Godaddy can work with you on price. I do the circle
transfer between LCN $6.49 and Godaddy under $8 these days and if Dynadot and Namesilo has deals and or CrazyDomains.

1&1? hello no. not from the news I've read.

Yes, I strictly recommend you to avoid 1and1 if you don't understand how it works...
The less domainers use it - the longer their various promos are available for another domainers.

And your panic posts don't matter for me.
I have my own 1and1 experience for decade, one of my primary registrars for daily usage.

Connectreseller is offering unlimited transfers for $8.08

After cashback, that would currently be dynadot ($7.99 - $1.99 = $5.00) or godaddy if you are DDC member ($7.99 + 0.18 - 1.26 = $6.91).
There's also LCN with around $6.49 but their panel is painfully slow. I have ~250 domains with them and it's a nightmare :(. The more domains you add, the slower it gets.
