Just put this in the XR thread but thought some who read this thread might be interested as well:

"Pleased to announce that myself & @elad just completed a deal for XR P#rn (.com)

Unfortunately we are not in a position to disclose full details of the sale but I did report in another thread that we had turned down an offer of $15,000 previously but a substantially improved offer came through which we decided to take.

Even though we were gutted to let XR P#rn go as we believe it will have a great future. We have managed to acquire the following domain names which we feel are promising replacements:

XR Gaming (.com)
Short Stories (.com)"
Wow amazing mate you and @Elad n have done an amazing job closing this deal. Great name and a really great result for Xr names too especially for future tech names in general.

Thanks.

The formula was basically an offer we couldn't refuse at the end of the day, so we sold and moved on to the next

That’s’ what you got to do.

Good to see you are thinking outside the box too (outside virtual tech).

Money comes in and being used for diversifying to your weak areas.
Thats what needs to be done imo

Well if you consider VR a weak area of yours (know you invested in a VR domain recently), get in touch, i’ll do a trade for short stories.

VR Headset Sales for 2019 Are Already Impressive
https://www.tomshardware.com/news/vr-ar-market-sales-research-idc,39755.html

Important note that, for whatever reason, they include AR HMD's in that number.
And I can't see that being more than 2% of the overall market at this point.
So that 27% increase is pretty much VR and important to note that this was Q1 report and does not include any of the more resent releases that are sure to change the market. And some that have yet to be released.

So, no hype, it is showing a strong increase. More important to see both Q2 & Q3 sales numbers to totally convince me. But looking up for a change.

Yes, it's definitely looking like we may have turned the corner.

If you look at Google Trends for search terms such as 'vr games' there's been a clear and sustained increase since the launch of the Oculus Quest. If it can continue for a few more months until the Black Friday Sales and the start of xmas period then it will be very promising.

Bigscreen TV Adds Over 50 Free Live Channels To Social VR Platform

Interesting ! But not my thing. I'm sure the younger among us probably go for it.
But a nice expansion of use. And I know they have been at it a while.

Cheap price but only purchased for low $xx a few months ago.

Gone to a company that it will be perfect for though so I am happy with that(y)

https://techcrunch.com/2019/07/27/t...iative-for-immersive-technology-for-the-arts/

The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation is looking for pitches on how to enhance and augment traditional creative arts through immersive technologies.

Through a partnership with Microsoft the foundation is offering a share of a $750,00 pool of cash and the option of technical support from Microsoft, including mentoring in mixed-reality technologies and access to the company’s suite of mixed reality technologies.

In the link also the few startups/projects who received some of the funding from the first pool.
