.uk .UK domain name release

NameSilo
Watch
Is anyone registering .UK domains? They opened registration for anyone and there's a bunch of great one-word domains up for grabs. I haven't heard much about this extension on this forum and wanted to know all of your take.

UK residents already owning the .CO.UK extension received first dibs of its equivalent but now it's open registration. These .UK names seems to be much more better and catchy than .co.uk, but we'll see how things go. I suppose it's still too early to say.

There's still many great domains up for grab.

I got selfdriven.uk not cause I really wanted it, but it remained on my list after I sifted out a lot of crap haha

Haha. I do however feel a little bit assured that you also kept it. Let me know if you get an inquiry and we can let them get a package deal 😂.

Trying to create an account with domainlore

Rocket science is easier

Tried about 2 years ago as I don't want a different email address and they won't accept my existing one which works just fine

I preordered over 50 one word .uk’s via GoDaddy. I just received one, the others weren’t caught. I guess I should consider myself lucky to have gotten one.

So I went looking back to this thread from over two years ago when members were speculating over the future of .co.uk compared to .uk.
Now that .uk is released to public, I’d love to hear what you all think will be happening with .uk vs. co.uk in two years from now. Have opinions changed?

probably best to go to the thread below if you want to respond.

Thanks.
Me hoping that UK selfdriving industry will prosper (it is doing pretty good) and that co.uk will decrease and .UK will increase.
I will sit on those for a couple of years and see what happens.
Have you gotten any offer on a .uk yet?

Yes i have but most of my offers are on co.uk

If you see such record in WHOIS...

Data validation:
Nominet was not able to match the registrant's name and/or address against a 3rd party source

Don't forget to validate your registrant details with your registrar - or after 30 days your domains will be suspended.

Doesn't look promising to me as per my experience in the UK space. As of now, 3L, and 1 - word .uk might have some chance in resale. Remaining ones would take a long time to see the light of the day. That's just my opinion though.
