Hi guys, new here and just wanted to let you know about my Domain Catcher script. It's designed to catch domain names on the day that they are due to expire (or to be released) and works with most common top-level domains such as .com, .uk, co.uk, .org, .net, .eu etc.
If anyones looking to catch an expiring domain DM me and we can see what we can do.
Thanks,
James

Are you sure about this? I thought the major players have to fight for it like everyone else

100% sure. At best, dropcatch alone is hundreds of thousands or millions of times more likely to catch a name than you. At worst, it's not even possible due to the delay of API dropcatching vs EPP dropcatching (i.e. request goes to the registrar, then request goes to the central registry vs. request goes directly to the central registry).

Do you work for drop catch? Cheers for pissing in my cornflakes... ;) That may be true but I'd say I manage to catch about 50% of the domains I put in the catcher.

order com net info org biz to my service and you'll see that your catcher will catch exactly 0% :)

Congrats on coding it however your success may be because I don't think the major players are looking at co.uk names possibly due to a believed weaker resale market in that CC.

Not necessarily true. The biggest reason for failure is the competition. When you're competing against dropcatch, forget about it. Others can be beaten but it really depends on the power your setup has. I regularly beat other services and I can fact check this because I always run my own setup and place backorders when I think there would decent demand for a domain.

If you want to test probability against dropcatch, try catching some real premium domains that are dropping. You simply won't catch any.

You basically caught these domains because there were probably no backorders placed at decent dropcatch services in the first place.

It could still be a useful tool though. Sometimes nice domains go unnoticed and a decent dropcatch setup will beat anyone that's trying to handreg it on the drop.

Furthermore, you cannot compare dropcatching ccTLDs to catching gTLDs. It's an entire different battle field. I operate a lot in my country's ccTLD and have recently become an accredited registrar for this sole purpose. It definitely helps but for the average domainer it's not worth the cost of operating a registrar and a dropcatch setup.

But, like I said, with your script you may have a slight advantage over the average domainer looking for those hidden gems and that's always a big plus.

dropcatch+snapnames takes 100% of the market on .com .net , no ?

Not in my experience. I've only tried 3 .com names and I've won them all. I'm sure if snapnames wanted them they would win them but like I said the 3 best expiring .com's I could find among all the dfkjhgtu45.com garbage, took me a few hours to find but I won them all.

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place for .coms but I haven't really shopped about - i go to dnsexit.com

Be sure that I could order thousands of domains every month to you if you win against dropcatch or snapnames... ;)

Thousands of domains expire every minute so I doubt these guys are catching the majority of them. I see a challenge coming :sneaky:

Majority of people here use expireddomains.net to find good domains that are dropping, and if you need three hours just to find three mediocre domains you are doing something wrong, you should create free account at expireddomains.net,then search for .com domains that are dropping tomorrow, order them by their Alexa rank, from lower to higher, then pick 40-50 .com domains with best Alexa rank and maybe some backlinks, try to catch any of them and you will see what chances you have against dropcatch or snapnames:xf.wink:

Jamesdb,

Kudos to you for coming up with your own solution. The script works for what you are doing and in the end that's all that matters.

You offered something you worked hard on to others and of course you have the dumb ones who will slap your hand away and scream at you for not being the biggest and very best. I really question the intelligence of some people here, but please don't let that deter you from doing YOUR thing.

Respect to you sir :)

Why don’t you just agree that your catcher will catch anything that expires without a backorder anywhere else. Cuz I like anyone with common sense know you will not beat any other drop catcher. Simple test would be to pick an odd ball name and try to catch it with your software and also try to use one of the other.
