The discussion is very interesting :)

A few tips:

- In Spanish, nouns are classified by gender as masculine or feminine.

The table - La mesa - feminine.
The locker - El armario - masculine.

- The gender of a noun affects the form of other words related to it.

White table - mesa blanca
White locker - armario blanco

* adjectives usually come after nouns *

- If we have a group of feminine nouns, or a group of girls - then the related adjective should be feminine.

A pregnant wife may say "I am pregnant" - "Estoy embarazada". If her sister is also pregnant, and they met each other - then they may say "We are pregnant" - "Estamos embarazadas"

- As soon as a single guy (or masculine noun) added into the feminine group - the whole group "becomes" masculine.

If two pregnant females from above example had a chance to invite pregnant mr. Alex from 1994 "Junior" film (portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger) - then we will have a group of 3 pregnant humans with one guy inside, and so they should say "We are pregnant" this way: Estamos embarazados.

Of course, a happy future father may wish to say "we are pregnant" even though technically it is only his wife who is pregnant. He will then also use "embarazados": Estamos embarazados.

Similar happened in Real Spanish Academy example ("it must be a father and a mother"), as well as in colombian Embarazados.co, which is intended to be used by both parents: "Embarazados.co es una valiosa herramienta que permite tanto a mujeres como hombres aprender sobre el embarazo" - "Embarazados.co is a valuable tool that allows both women and men to learn about pregnancy"

You are right, but... here is my point.

The doctors, medicines and treatments, as well as the whole industry uses "Embarazadas" so, Embarazados not have the same commercial value as embarazadas. Therefore, "embarazados" it's almost a brand domain, in fact is confused, not objective with the service.

In fact Just because some people use the feminine, does not mean that there is an industry based on that, therefore, there are a million reasons why there is someone have embarasados website, and taking into account that each Spanish-speaking country has its own way of speaking although we share the same language, so embarazados have no value. period.

its also correct..
feliz mama and mama feliz

Feliz mama vs mama feliz, same meaning but different use.

You use, Feliz mama inside an sentence, no alone

and you use mama feliz, inside a sentence or alone.

So, mama feliz is the right way.

mama ( the subject )

feliz ( the predicate )

(this is the right way to talk ) About whom you speak ?... - about mama ,, how is mama ?...-feliz.

try to change the order, have no sense.

the translator is wrong. in English the last word is the first on spanish, to describe something

like

red car < ---- carro rojo

new year < ----- año nuevo

happy mom < --- mama feliz

Hola From Spain,

The real Spanish academy says: That all plural adjectives are said in masculine.

So the plural of Pregnant is EMBARAZADOS, based on the fact that two women can not have the same child, then it must be a father and a mother, both sexes to unify is used in masculine and plural.

In Spain it is recognized that children are father and mother, so the term EMBARAZADOS.COM is correct.

Spanish Traslation:

La real academia española dice: Que todo los adjetivos plurales se dicen en masculino.

Por lo que el plural de Embarazada es EMBARAZADOS, basandose en el hecho de que dos mujeres no pueden tener un mismo hijo(a), entonces tiene que ser de un padre y una madre, la accion de ambos sexos unificados según la regla debe ser en masculino y plural.

En España se reconoce que los hijos son de padre y madre, por lo que es correcto el termino: EMBARAZADOS.COM

If you target is wide, then yes.. if you tarjet is objetive then have no value.

Yeah, I basically agree. But, thinking of Colombian health ministry... Why did they elect to use embarazados then? I'd guess because of either

- embarazadas.co / embarazadas.com.co were alrealy regged

OR

- they knowingly elected to target guys as well. As it is the mission of the health ministry to help and educate both parents. I mean they probably did not want to say "Hello Juan, please visit embarazadas dot something". As the guy Juan might not show a lot of interest to visit something that sounds like 100% female-oriented website.

The problem is that they are domains for a small business, not for an industry.

Let me put it in perspective, i register mex envios , is like mexico shipping, already exists is a business with the name mex envios and shipping business is bigger than all you business domains names or products, What is the problem, then ? .. the problem is that they are not going to buy it .. not even for $300, no one, anything that in English can be something successful and in great demand, in Spanish can be successful but without demand.

Is just about Culture, the Spanish-speaking countries are behind in the way to see a domain as an investment.

Your back and forth dialog here was interesting as it isn’t common usage of the masculine form because the subject of an article is not the male or the couple but is obviously usually a female, but a pareja.... well. Strange exception?. Not sure if Elle magazine is a good source either.

No idea, but it seems that something is exist with llamex, some kind of calling card, but that not mean they are going to buy the domain.

Hola Spanish speakers. You guys like llamex.com as a Mexican telecom service?

The proof is if you can find a buyer. Who is your realistic customer?

I guess it makes sense as a say cut up brandable llama (3rd person) + Mex for Mexico. Saturated market though, Movistar (Telefonica de España) and Claro are everywhere.

Jennifer (she) and Ben (he). We are speaking about a group, and at least one guy belongs to the group. In this case, a Spanish adjective must be masculine. Elle magazine is correct.

@gipson
Thanks for your insight,
I wouldn't call it a problem though, I registered them with small business in mind as brandable domains in Spanish language ( the .coms ).
I had few small offers for the .Co domains.
I did a little survey among Spanish speakers from few different countries and they all have completely different opinions, I think it is a big mistake to throw all the Spanish speakers in one bag, just as the politicians do, without looking at the intricacies of different cultures. For example, other than the Spanish language, what else is common for Nicaraguans and Argentineans?

No doubt the proof is in the pudding. I don't do outbound though. If a name passes my criteria for meaningfulness and the acquisition price is palatable, I price it, put up my feet and wait, possibly forever. What I ought to have asked in order to receive more meaningful feedback is whether the forum readers like the sound of the name and find it meaningful in the target market setting (Mexico).

I am not native spanish speaking, but I like it.
For me sound like brandable, a combination of 2 words: llamar (to call) + Mexico.

you get a big fat "F" from me

The doctors, medicines and treatments, as well as the whole industry uses "Embarazadas" so, Embarazados not have the same commercial value as embarazadas. Therefore, "embarazados" it's almost a brand domain, in fact is confused, not objective with the service.

But since men do not get pregnant, is just an accident of language, just a phrase of solidarity / support from man to woman.

You should stop posting on this topic. There is no such thing as "an accident of language". There are many examples of usage of "embarazados" in the medical world across diverse Spanish-speaking countries. Do you think that governments and health professionals are ignorant in Spanish grammar? Don't answer that, it is a rhetorical question.
