Hi,

There is a difference between domaining, buying/selling/Investing.

Which one are you?

MOST investors have a buy and HOLD plan.

Domain flippers, sounds like you are trying to be.....

They buy a domain at some random auction for $25k, then flip at $30k.

That's the only way to make money as a flipper.

Or buy at $15 and hold for maybe several years....

Your RANDOM domain will never sell. Think of END USER.

Thanks, I actually bought this domain name keeping in mind the end user
The end user will be
It will be perfect name for valuation tool
valuation base company
domain valuation
and for online market place sell and get value instantly
But it's my thinking, may it vary and yes,you are right .I should hold this domain name

Sorry, I meant 'the random domain', not your domain specifically. There are millions of domains available on the secondary market, only a tiny portion of them will be sold. Sounds like you are on the right track!!

The domain idea you mentioned sounds like a good idea, but still might take years for the right owner/offer to come along. Or you could get super lucky and have it sold next week!

No expectations, just enjoy the experience! Many experienced domainers will tell you not to buy a ton of domains before you sell one, but the chances of selling just the one domain you have is very/extremely low. You will gain more experience as a domainer through the buying and holding process.

I am the beginner too.

Stumbled into short video course on domaining by chance. Decided it may be interesting way of investment.
Bought a lot of garbage which I just registered by myself:)

Was wondering why nobody buys that garbage (cause I was sure that any domainer sells a few a month).
Paid for appraisal at SEDO (because it is written there that it is impossible to set a price over 50 000 without the appraisal there, and I decided that I can register a couple of dozens domains like ghanaporn .com, kind of which are listed for xxx.xxx at SEDO, and will make a fortune). It turned out that my pornghana.com costs only a hundred over the 99 EUR which I have paid for the appraisal, and no one can tell why ghanaporn.com is valuated in xxx.xxx.

Paid for the auctions at SEDO for a half a dozen of domains. And even sold one for 99 EUR - got a profit about 12 EUR:))) Realized that most of the domains which go into auction at SEDO (if they are not top domains) are not listed for the auction specially, but have Make Offer listing and go to the auction when the offer is already made, so they do not have a chance to lose (but those who pay 59 EUR for the auction - most of them do not get offers).

Tried to put very low prices at the garbage - it did not help:) Realized that it may take months or years to sell even good domain. Came to understanding that the quality is better than quantity - it is better to backorder the domains than to try to find something valuable among the dropped. Or even to participate in auctions for the premium domains.

So... It is not that easy as it seems from outside:) It will take time (and money) to get the experience and to make profit...

The domain is about 20 days old. The average turnover is about 1-2% a year for quality a portfolio.

That means if you have 100 domains you can expect 1-2 to sell a year for end user prices.

If you are expecting (1) domain to sell in under a month you have unrealistic expectations.
