Hello!

Im Johan from Sweden. I am amazed how I have totaly missed this culture. Im working in IT but it have never occured to me that Domainhunting is a thing. Im a big fan of branding, words, puns etc. This will burn hole in my pockets.
I have in one week bought 36 domains where a couple feels special. Like CoinClosure.com for example.
Im excited to learn all the tricks. Thanks for having me, looking forward to this journey.

Best Regards

/Levererarn

Welcome!

Just some advice, don't spend a lot of money before studying the world of domain names ;)

Nick

Point taken! 33 out of the 36 are .coms. And then two .plus and one .cards.

The "trick" is not to waste a lot of money registering lots of domains until you know what you are doing. It actually takes years to really understand this industry. Be patient.

I do fully agree -- .COM is king and will remain such. Quality .COM inventory is harder to come by for prices that offer compelling risk-adjusted return.

The point I was making was that a $0.99 .CO provides opportunity for asymmetric return with relatively low risk. I would not suggest to speculate on the new TLDs as the after-market is weak and renewals will usually chew you up alive.

Yeah, its hard. On one hand you want to get your portfolio going. On the other hand you need to be patient. Im not gonna register any more for a while now. Just learn the market and throw my domains out there occacinaly.

Hello Johan and welcome to NamePros. You'll learn all kinds of things as you read through the threads here. One of the most important lessons is that a year goes by quickly and renewal fees add up!
Best of luck with your new venture -

You haven't missed anything, except the boat that sailed back in the mid-90's..

But there's a new boat, with plenty of openings. It's the Mayflower 2.0, the new G's of the stormy seas.

Welcome to forum, your euphoria is something we can all relate to. Ride it, but don't crash. 36 domains in one week sounds like a head-on collision to the drop club..

Thanks so much for the shout out. I'm pleasantly surprised and proud of the praise my thread has received from the community.

I am considering starting a blog on domain investing. Is this something people would be interested in?

Great stuff Dave! Awesome!

Welcome to your new addiction. CoinClosure is a pretty good find for someone who's just starting out. You seem to have the right attitude. Now just put in the work and good things should happen. Good luck (and be careful with your money).

@Levererarn I should clarify that I don't think it's a great name. And it likely won't sell. The domain wasn't registered before and the word 'Closure' mostly has a negative meaning and isn't a word that's used in these types of combos. But the fact that you recognized a good keyword like 'coin' and matched it with a short word that starts with the same letter is a good sign that you have an ear for brandables that you can apply in the future to better names. Most newbies just register things that don't even sound remo If this domain sells it will probably be related to rehabilitation from addiction to cryptocurrency or something like that. But who knows? It kind of sounds like the word foreclosure. In the future, try to aim for more positive brands.

Thank! I understand. With positive, do you mean my other Crypto-domain CryCurrency.com :)

Nah, maybe I should push my Happytism.com more if looking for positivity, haha.

Thanks for great input!
