Their phone number was incorrect and didn't give an e-mail address (well, technically they repeated the phone number and added @gmail.com to the end).

I'm 100% sure the number is wrong and nothing to do with making the international call wrong.

I thought, maybe a scam, but then .. a scam can't work if I can't communicate with them.

(Of course I would have used Escrow.com and not just PayPay anyway.)
