All right, I'll toss out the first pitch to the new site.

At my first and very quick glance the site is reasonably attractive and appealing and appears well planned and in a reasonably user friendly format.

Personally like the allocation of main page space to the realm of sports collectibles - as growing up I
had personal access to some game bats and cleats and autographed balls and autographs and a few other items I still have after more than half a century.

So I was hit with a nice twinge of nostalgia looking at that section.

And it is my nostalgia that leads me into my next few comments.

What about a scattering of historic or old photos on the main page to entice and encourage the visiting sports fan to look closer at the site and perhaps " sign-up" ?

Or perhaps a moving banner showing those types of pics or, showing pics of game equipment, such as a football, a bat, a hockey stick, or a full stadium, a locker room, a jersey and the like.

Likely you prefer to sell banner ads, understandably, just suggesting a spattering of sports engaging images might solidify your Forum to serious visitors.

Or a section containing members' favorite sports pics ( assuming copyright permissible or pre-copyright).
