NEED ADVICE I HAVE A GODADDY ISSUE.

Hello Members. I purchased a domain name from GoDaddy on January 26 2019. The money was taken from my bank account, and I was issued a receipt for confirmation of ownership. Today five months later I received an email from GoDaddy stating that the domain name is already registered at Nic. I immediately called GoDaddy and they verified the authenticity of the email sent to me. They had also advised me over the phone that I don't own the domain name and would recieve a refund of my money. I told them over the recorded conversation that I dispute this action and its unfairness. Back in January I rightfully purchased this domain name with a plan and marketing and now I feel those options are being bullied away from me. Any advice on how to proceed will be deeply appreciated. Thanks.

There is nothing godaddy can do, they register the name on your behalf but if there is a database error and the name belongs to someone else then godaddy cannot simply go in and grab the domain.

Does it suck? Yes it most certainly does.

Does it happen? Absolutely, happened to myself and lots of members.

The only thing to do is move on and look for an alternate domain.

I feel your pain but alas errors like this do occur.

I checked "who is" and it shows that someone recently registered it in MAY 2019. I registered it with Godaddy in JANUARY 2019. Would your explanation still apply?

You would have to supply the domain so we could do more research.
It's hard to say without seeing if it was a brand new registration or if the domain simply changed hands.

This whole domaining thing is not an exact science, I can't tell you how many times I thought a domain was mine only to have it end up somewhere else.

@JoeStyler, I hope you had a wonderful time during your travel. While you were away Dr.Berryhill ESQ was able to guide me thru my GoDaddy issue and GoDaddy was very accommodating in resolving the matter. Thanks.

Godaddy must be a spaceship from another planet. They don't do earth-style.

Still can't renew my domain. First time I tried to renew there. I shouldn't have to call them every time I want to do something... should I?

Greetings. For best results we test from customer perspective on planet Earth. It might increase customer satisfaction and your profit margins.

I only ended up in your spaceship because of a sale but I AM PLANNING TO VACATE to my home planet any day now.

Was going to write some tips etc but I only do that on the clock these days.

Wasted 20mins there and then got a message saying the transaction couldn't be carried out. Waste of my time.
