Page Howe did a post today on DN.biz that Uniregistry expired inventory is going to Dynadot's marketplace. Page wrote: Uniregistry names seem to carry a higher than normal $50 fee, (Dynadot owned names start at $12.99) and seem to be at a set time, about 8 PM EST. That a smart move as opposed to the tough to follow all day expired names period for Dynadot names. You can read the … [Read more...]

Why would they free working capital sitting in their bank account, it's a good business move for obvious reasons. I would say any amount over $250 should be returned via the method it was paid for sure. It is making customers mad for sure, now that is is front, and center I guess they will need to address it for sure, or make it optional for the customer to contact them to get the funds back.

I guess they would because many might stop bidding there. Like @dande mentioned someone winning for $5,000 and getting refunded is going to be pissed.

Dynadot tracking was in place before they had a deal with Uniregistry, and I wasn’t aware of their deal right away. So it wasn’t a conscious decision to include them, they just got added automatically. Once I was aware of it I needed to see how it played out, and so far it’s not looking good. I’m not getting hung up on your choice of words, just trying to understand exactly how everyone feels about it as that will help with the decision of how to deal with it. Thanks for your feedback.

OK. I just felt you were jumping on my choice of words :)

Regarding Dynadot refunds, I'm certain they will make refund on your original paying method (eg. credit card). I was. Not sure if something has changed recently.

Not sure if the refunds are randomized or something, out of 15 won auctions that went renewed, i recieved a paypal refund for 1 transaction while the rest went to credit. Note if youre bidding on a name from pace, newby, or cyberline it will most likely be renewed.

The second registrant from this list used to do the same with his godaddy expireds and frequently (many years), using expired sales as a free appraisal tool. Thanks to new GD renewal rules, it is no more feasible I think. The 1st and the 3rd registrants - not sure, may also be the case.

Well that's good if it's being refunded that way, some members said they only got account credit.

Most of the time you need to ask the support for the refund to your payment

Dynadot auction is useless. Whenever you win a great name, the chances it will ever get to your account is almost zero. At the last minute you will hear someone has renewed. And you will never be refunded outside Dynadot credit.

If you put in $5,000 with hope you've won a great name, when they refund you, the money will sit at Dynadot as credit and will never get out again.
This is not the case, our system does automatically refund the order to the account balance but our orders team will refund the payment to the original payment method, we would just need to ask you to contact our live chat team or email the orders team with the request at [email protected].

Therein lies the problem. This should be AUTOMATICALLY refunded to the payment source. Put your programmers on overtime to get this finished.

Have to believe this one going to be renewed, OneLab.com closed at $2,551 on Friday, but it sold for $7,000 on Uniregistry back in 2016, https://namebio.com/onelab.com
