Transfer out from epik.com to GoDaddy

Hi pros,

I'm going to purchase domain name and it's with epik.com. Can somebody familiar with epik.com transfer process could please tell me whether they provide instant transfer (transfer approved by current owner and transfer complete instantly upon approval) or do i need to wait 5 - 7 days until epik itself approve transfer?

Think I've only done inbound transfers to Epik but maybe @robepik can assist you.

You can do it. Once approved admin email from new godaddy, check outbound transfer tab in epik and click approve from checkbox. Transfer is instant

If you bought new, 60 days lock may be there as per ICANN.

The domain was expired so had to contact Rob for the code.

Yes, for the expired domains this doesn't work... and Unlock feature as well.
Very annoying... No such problems with most other registrars.

As alternative, you may ignore their limited panel and try to unlock and get AUTH code via API...
Should work... I guess...

Yep, just transferred out a domain that expired 35 days ago at dynadot. No problems.

Yes, you can transfer after ExpirationDate if it was unlocked and with working AUTH code...
I'm talking only about their panel... which blocks access to those functions on ED.
+ Epik AUTH code is not stable even if you have it... they generate another code on ~12th day after ED.

The transfer process for .ca is almost instant with a code regardless of what register you use.

Sometimes my com's take days to transfer, that's almost barbaric in today's time.

Good to hear epik was instant

Now they lock the domains after Expiration Date even if they were unlocked prior it... also they set Privacy...
And in this scenario - Unlock feature in their panel doesn't work... via API as well...
Very annoying...
