Hi,

"LIBRA" is the name of Facebook CryptoCurrency.

Calibra.com/org and LIBRA.org bought by Facebook.

Main site will run on LIBRA.org

Libra.com already in use.

Thanks
MaX

wouldn't it make more sense for them to run on Calibra.com? Especially as @iowadawg has pointed out that they already have a subsidiary under this name?

This would avoid any confusion with Libra.com.....who I would bet a few quid that FB have already approached to try and buy the domain.....

It's too confusing to go to Calibra.com to for Libra Coin.

many crypto/blockchain projects prefer .ORG instead

ahh OK - thought "libra" was an internal phrase, has this changed?

There is going to be a lot traffic going to the .com. They did go out and spend 8.5 million dollars on FB.com so they must know the value of having the .com version of any name?

Libra.Global & LibraDaily (y)

The others seem random & too long.

They'll probably refer to it as Libra, not Libra Coin.

Libra: a unit of weight, equivalent to 12 ounces (0.34 kg). It was the forerunner of the pound.

It's "Libra" which is a CryptoCurrency...ain't Libracoin.

Instead you may register some ccTLDs with "LibraPay" and "Libra Wallet"

I realize that the currency may end up as just "Libra." Although, there is the "Libra Blockchain" backed by the "Libra Reserve" that is all organized by the "Libra Association." Knowing that, the actual traded currency COULD be called the "Libra Coin" or "Libra Token" or something else. Lots to follow, only speculation as of now.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. The white paper will tell lots. There is rumor that the Libra Blockchain will be open source. This could open up some opportunities with the related terms. It will be interesting to see what FaceBook allows, or doesn't allow, with their TM on "Libra" in relation to the cryptocurrency.

Some crypto experts are saying that "Libra" is not true cryptocurrency because of the control aspect. So there is speculation that the TM may not be enforced or controlled by one entity, like Bitcoin.

Everything is speculative as of now.

related terms like what? librablockchain? cant see a whole lot of domain options with libra in it as fb WILL have that tm . have at er if u think its a niche to blow your $ in but what returns r there in domaining? not alot as i can see. just making the reg co richer thats all

You make a good point. It remains to be seen exactly how this will be played out. Questions remain such as:

Will the TM be enforced and/or to what extent?
Will it be decentralized or centralized?
Open source?

Etc..........

Having said that, bitcoin domains have done well. There may end up being opportunity here. In fact bitcoin.casino sold for $28,000, so congrats to @DoughMayne.

well i knew bitcoin domains would be used to compare but its not the same thing . libra is fb , but maybe 1 day they will expand out to use in other platforms for payment . who knows domaining is a weird biz and people buy and sell domains i would never consider so its all a crapshoot obviously

Just read a nice piece about Libra

Supposedly the "association" will start research in 2020 whether to make Libra more decentralised.......ummm ok then, more chance of a pig flying through my window......

Facebook’s crypto isn’t a new Bitcoin, it’s Disney Dollars for a new world order.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/facebook-crypto-isn-t-bitcoin-110201182.html

The last sentence made me smile:

"But even if every Bitcoin user the world over doesn’t jump on Libra when it launches in the first half of 2020, your aunt probably will. And that’s exactly what Facebook is betting on."
