Ok you 5G naysayers u have to research the topic b4 u tear down a niche like 5G!

I see alot of domainers on here saying 5G will never take off.

Well let me say that 5G is THE BIGGEST leap in technology to come in 25 years and it will be in EVERY facet of our lives in time.

It is going to be used in almost every industry on the planet from automakers to hotels, so stop the bad mouthing and get on board!

Mind u I dont really mind the negativity as it means more domains for those who see the potential.

for online gaming 5G is the bomb because its 100x faster than 4G in spec

4g = 100mbps
5g= 1gbps
Everyone enjoys a good pump fest but someone must defend mathematics ... 1gbps is 10x 100mbps. Carry on.

5G might be a great technology, but it doesn't mean squat for 5G domains.

This reminds me of all the people regging everything "3D" years ago. I am sure they are all retired now from how much money they made :xf.rolleyes:

beware of some of these 5g naysayers as they are playing with your mind as they KNOW the opportunity and r trying to divert u away from the tech so they can benefit and reg those better domains. This tech will be worth over a TRILLION in services, products, oem etc etc etc etc in 10+ years so keep at it . some will sell in time if u have them.

everyone adverse to 5g always say but look who made $ on 3g 4g domains? As the thread says 5G is NOT those other gens and it took 10 years to get 5G ready to market. It will be used in everything from autos, gaming to surgery and tons of other niches we cannot comprehend of as yet im sure and domains will be needed. Brandable and keyword.

So tell me what other tech on the planet is as big as 5G and is starting right now? nothing! u r in the right time to benefit so spend a few $ on 5g domains and see what happens. I get more views on my 5G than other domains period and ive only had a few for a month or less. no sales as yet but who knows, im a gambler as we all are. keep the 5g faith cause its REAL!

u may need to hold for a few years but thats what domaining is about,

ummm u better read some more as 5G is in THE NEAR FUTURE of online gaming in a HUGE way

i dont reg domains without research btw

go to google news simply type in "5g gaming" theres alot of info on the tech

https://www.techradar.com/news/this-is-how-5g-will-take-mobile-gaming-to-the-next-level

https://www.gamesradar.com/what-does-5g-mean-for-gaming/

i can keep going on 5G online gaming links but hey u check it out and c for yourselves.

I'm aware there's a lot of reporting on the possibility, and there are a lot of people who want it to work, but it's not going to be a big market for 5G. I skimmed the articles and found enough misunderstandings and misconceptions that I wasn't going to bother reading them in full.

Always take what you read in the news with a grain of salt. This goes for any topic, but it's particularly important in the realm of science and technology; it's very common for reporters to misunderstand the information they've been given. For example, a journalist researching Li-Fi or 5G might come across this and assume that Li-Fi is a form of 5G, which isn't the case (and isn't what the article is trying to say). Furthermore, despite widespread reporting and speculation around Li-Fi, it has never taken off, and it never will in its current form. I pointed as much out two years ago in the Li-Fi thread on NamePros; in that post, I said the industry was focusing on 802.11s instead of Li-Fi and PLC. 802.11s has continued to be a primary focus of home networking innovation since that post, with Li-Fi never taking off and PLC falling by the wayside.

You love it when I praise your domains and get very agitated when I provide constructive criticism. I've stated numerous times that 5G is here to stay. 5G domains are a relatively safe investment as far as speculation goes. However, not all 5G domains are good; I have pointed out one good domain to you and one bad one.

Rather than blindly assuming that all 5G domains are good or all 5G domains or bad, you should consider the contexts in which 5G is likely to be a search term. "5G online gaming" isn't a good EMD: those search terms aren't going to go together. "5G OEM" is a good EMD: those search terms will go together quite regularly. (The raw number of searches won't be high, but the traffic itself will be high-value, and companies will pay a lot to get those views.)

That's not how it works. 5G is not a good choice for playing Fortnite on desktops/laptops, though it's better than 4G if you're playing on mobile. It's still a bit unclear whether 5G will catch on with mobile devices, though; right now, most of the money is going into fixed residential internet connectivity. I'd certainly like to see 5G mobile devices, but 5G range is very, very limited, so it's mostly useful as a replacement for open Wi-Fi hotspots. 5G doesn't work well when stations are moving around.

That's not true. When new technology emerges like this, it's important to separate the hype from the reality. Yes, 5G is going to be big: that's set in stone at this point. Too much money has already been invested in it. But there is a lot of very uneducated speculation going into reporting; this is hype, and it doesn't represent how 5G is actually being deployed, or what it's actually good at doing.

This is the primary risk in investing in 5G domains as a domain investor, rather than as a networking professional: it's very hard to separate reality from hype unless you actually work in that industry. People responsible for engineering and deploying 5G already know how it's going to be used because they understand its strengths and weaknesses--but reporters rarely talk to those people.

"I disagree with your opinion and my opinion is my opinion so it must be right".

That is basically what I just read.

I was watching the GD closeouts earlier today. 5GTLDS .com is at $5 with four hours left. I grabbed 5GTLD .com right when it hit the $11 drop last week. In case anyone is looking at buying off the drops, Still a few hours left.

Love this quote from cnet.com :

"We're not merely relabelling a technology ... [5G] is meaningful," said Mike Haberman, Verizon's VP of network engineering, who was introduced to me on the phone as "Mr. 5G."
