If I sound naive it is because I am naive. I am a novice in the domain business.

Does the GetVisaCard.com domain name necessarily conflict with the brand name “VISA” from the Visa International Service Association ?

I will not take risks on this one. I will try to cancel it or drop it.

I bought the "GetVisaCard.com" because I also assumed that "Visa Card" is a common combination of words.
It is. Refering to the world famous trademarked brand called "Visa".

Also what possible use could you have for that domain?

Bitcoin cannot be compared to VISA. Use the Tess website before buying any domain, you can see all the US trademark data and then make a decision. There are debatable situations, sure. But why risk it?

I argued with some guy recently with a gray area name, its sorta dumb business to register risky names.

Here was my response to TekApp.com, which Tek.com, Tektronix who has been around for years, sure you can argue it. But why?

offthehandle, wait a moment. Even I would be reticent to your argument. There are tons of domain names that use the word "tek" in their names. It cannot possibly be a trademark violation. Only the use of the entire word "Tektronix" would characterize trademark violation.

Like I said Gray area. If I were Tektronix, I would buy TekApp since its very specific. If someone else buys it, builds an app related at all to Electronics, then Tek will file a UDRP and rightly so.

Tek.com is owned and like “Klennex” “Tek” is their common nickname industry wide for Tektronix equipment. Nobody with industry experience in the US would touch TekApp.com.

Sure other versions of a suffix or prefix could be invented like Teknobabbly, Endotek, SuperTek, BestTek, TekPhase, etc. you might get away with those as long as they are not confusingly similar or in the same industry. But any intelligent end user would not risk buying a TM risky domain. Maybe another greater fool domainer though.

You are exaggerating on cautiousness. What is your next step ? avoiding to use any domain name with the letter "k" in it because it is also part of the "Tektronix" word ?

artstar, take it ease, do not lose your civility. No one is obliged to necessarily agree with everyone's opinions. This is a free discussion. Furthermore, just because you are a member of NP, it does not mean that you represent the opinions of all members of the NP.
I was called "slow learner" in a previous post, which is offensive and yet I kept myself civil. I am very grateful to those who gave me rational and grounded answers. But anyone has the right to question opinions that do not seem logical or balanced. If no agreement is reached. Patience. Just let's agree on disagreeing. It is part of life.
As far I know this is a democratic and free forum.

"Visa" referring to the credit card is an obvious trademark issue.
"Visa" referring to a immigration document is generic.

If the domain was like GetAVisa.com and used by a legal service for the generic use, that is one thing.
Just holding something like "Get Visa Card" is not worth messing with. The "card" word actually makes it more infringing.

I agree.
What about currency names ? Can very common and public words become trademarks ?
For instance, would it be ok to register the
"DollarCurrency.com" domain name without being concerned with possible trademark ?

Only for a non-generic usage. "Dollar" in the rental car field for instance.
It has acquired a secondary meaning for that brand usage.

"Dollar" is way too generic to have an enforceable TM for the generic usage.
