...Only the inexperienced ones. I purposely add domains to my cart that a domainer own, and go through the entire buy process but don't pay. Then I'll check a week later and usually the domain goes from a Buy it Now price to a Make An Offer listing or 10x increase in value. And its funny because I know for a fact no one will make an offer or buy it. It never fails though. I've done the same with experienced domainers with premium exact match 1 word or 2 word .com domains and their listing is still the same price. That's how you spot an amateur domainer.

Cant see how you can enjoy something like that. You are wasting your time before you waste the domain owner's. Now take a moment and think of someone doing the exact same thing to you. You will be a fool or are you in the experiences list? With that said, I wish you and every domain many sales.

So,if what the so called amateurs are doing is foolish, then what you are doing would be called stupid?
Wait, is foolish and stupid the same thing?
Can you have a tie in the game of chess?

Your age shows you are 32. Don't you think it's time to start acting it?
Time to grow up

There is a thread called domain beginners but I don't go there to exploit them.

My Take

Next time, just say you were interested in a name, but you didn't pull the trigger immediately. When you returned the seller jacked up the price 10x. You found that to be sketchy business and amateurish. That could be a good thing for domainers to think about, to treat what we do like a real business and not jack up prices because of an inquiry or for emotional reasons. But when to turn it into a inquiry study, by saying you falsely inquire about names, then people can be rubbed the wrong way by that.

My perspective is just to take the good from the bad and apply whatever lesson i think can help me in this business.

If a domainer has buy now $1000 but your offering $100 and it routinely happens I see sense in now putting up 10k as buy now in the hope of 10% from the likes of the 10% offers.

In the world of domaining your opinion is irrelevant and so are your games. So what, you're going to do this to how many domains for sale? I hate to inform you but you could sit from now until you're 90 and you would not make a dent with your shenanigans. There are millions of domains for sale, and the few domains you pretended to buy are an insignificant drop in the bucket.

Obviously you got your feelings hurt because you were not successful at domaining, that is no reason to sabotage someone else's business. So be careful what you say, and do, because this forum has some pretty resourceful people, and you WILL be outed. Trust me it's pretty easy to put things together and if you motivate people with idiotic behavior then you will be treated in the same manner.

Calm down, be respectful and contribute to the community in a positive manner.

I recently had an offer for a name on undeveloped. I accepted the offer, but when undeveloped team sent payment reminder to the buyer they got cocky and said that they will pay when they're ready and on their terms, not undeveloped's terms.
Why submit an offer if you are not ready to pay the agreed price?
This thread just refueled the frustration.
It's childish, unprofessional, and a waste of time to do such things imo.

I imagine OP wanted to buy a domain and failed to buy it due to the asking price‘s being increased or not coming down to what he wanted to pay ended up resentful and is now taking it out on all domainers.

Like a guy who is spurned by one woman now hates all of them becomes a misogynist.

In either case not a sound psychological response.

.....And as a buyer I don't have time for you idiots thinking your domain name increased in value ten fold because I inquired about it......

For me, a reason for possible asking price increases after a minimum offer or inquiry is not just because someone wants the name but based on opportunities to evaluate estimated value by freshly looking at stats, google trends report, comps, traffic, appraisals, if taken in other extensions and researching buyer if possible.

That's stuff I probably did not do before, maybe because I assigned the same prices in bulk without spending vast amounts of time pricing 100s of individual domains.
