Congrats Biggie. Your style is you, and to be honest, a breathe of fresh air into any thread you post in.

15 years, in the olde world, well, your just a rookie still. :)

Makes me still in diapers..

15 years at the same career, is only half-way to retirement.

However, its a brave new world. Things, they change. Kids I train, they think they're veterans after 6 months.

15 years for a tech company, or a website, like NP, is a big deal. I wish it was the norm again. In my opinion, commitments like this speak to a person's integrity. Loyalty should be appreciated, particularly in todays throw-away mentality.

I commend you.

As an aside.. what's the difference between a 15 year vet and a 1 year newb starting a thread in NP? Answer:
The 1 year old would put this thread in General Domain Discussion. :)

I'm a little late to the party, but congrats biggie! 15 years is a long time. I'll be there with ya soon, after recently hitting 14 years myself. Though, nowhere near as active as you are here. :)

Thanks @WatchDogue

now in my 16th year, I still reflect on how much things have changed, in that span of time.

so many have come and gone.

all the different personalities and the personas`, the conversations, the subjects, all the questions,
and all the replies.

Congrats @biggie now on almost 16 years. I like the imo that you end most of your contributions. It reminds us all that often we are reflecting an opinion, and we should view contributions in that light, and be open to differing opinions. You also have a witty and eloquent way of concisely expressing ideas that distinguishes your contributions. Your contributions are almost poetry.

Thank you for making all of your contributions to NamePros. I wonder, do you feel that you spend more, or less, time on NamePros compared to your early years? What aspects of the community have kept you so actively involved over so many years?

Also congrats to NamePros for remaining a lively and valuable forum for us all. All those involved in leadership of NamePros do a difficult job diligently and well. For such a huge and active community the site works technically well virtually all of the time. Thanks and congrats to NamePros, too!

Have a good day everyone. Sincere congratulations @biggie.

imo :xf.smile:

Thanks Bob for your reply

I do it, close with "imo" in almost every post, except a sales thread
and that's because, it's just my opinion

it's what I really think, about the subject at hand

I wonder, do you feel that you spend more, or less, time on NamePros compared to your early years? What aspects of the community have kept you so actively involved over so many years?

I didn't have any preconceived notions, when I found out about buying and selling domains.
like most of newbies do now.

just happen to stumble upon a popular forum at the time, while looking for something else, for somebody else.

the early years were a lot different than now
there were more active forums, and I was then, and still am, a moderator on one of them

you'd have to have been, where I and others were, when namepros first went online and the "story behind", why NP may have came to be. as that in itself provided plenty of activity.
but many of same members from others places, joined NP too.

still, to go down the street from one forum to the other, was always a click away and still is for that matter.

so, I guess when it comes to what's keeping me involved:
basically, it's about having the opportunity, to "engage" with, and be a part of...
all the different personalities and the personas`, the conversations, the subjects, etc. and possibly make some money from domains in the meantime.

Hi All

soooo, now i'm an 17 yr. member here on NP

and so far, this year has been one of the craziest for sure

the issues this forum has had to deal with and how they dealt with them, had me scratching my head more than a few times.
like the avatar bs and the registrar promotions all over the board

the like and dislike issue, so childish and so abused and misused

but one of the most notable things, is members who have left the forum and others who requested to have their accounts closed.

another notable, is the troll and the fanboy.

some of these people, for what they have posted, will no longer get GP respect,
sorry... but you are going to have to earn it from now on.

and if you don't gaf, neither do i

meanwhile, I've had more of my posts deleted, friendly reminders from mods or threads closed, this year... than all the years combined

maybe it's time to break camp too, just getting less tolerant of some of the bull :poop: that i see and how it's being handled.

just saying....

imo....

Congrats on another year! Its a shame that the people who want to leave (yourself included) and that have left are usually the ones who have most to offer both in terms of experience and advice to noobies.

I think that in itself says plenty.

Come on now biggie. Just don't. I feel you. Many different worlds colliding here. Your world, is necessary, and welcomed, respected and apprectiated. For what its worth, from me. Always, respect.

Hi
Thanks D

yes, it says plenty
and because it says so much, without really saying anything, then that means those who have power to change it.... aren't listening

but you heard it, right?

Come on now biggie. Just don't. I feel you

Hi
Appreciate the respect, it goes both ways :)

but it seems that common sense and logic, is no longer a trait that some bring to the table or desire to obtain or exhibit.
sure this is a domain forum, but in many discussion threads, ignorance runs rampant and quite a few have no desire to educate themselves beyond their loyalties.

just saying.....

imo...
