Hey guys

So pleased to be part of this group as of today. I'm new to all this domain stuff as my primary focus is providing SEO services and although I'm good at that, I was actually looking to start in a new industry and to actually mention it, I stumbled upon this domain selling and buying stuff when someone approached me and asked me to sell a domain I already owned which was doctorsexpressnatic.com I can't believe this domain fetched a pretty little sum considering I paid 25 bucks for it. Well, I guess I have found my new industry which I want to get into. Really excited.

I can't understand for the life of me why this domain is so important except for the fact it has doctors and express in it which suggests some commercial intent. Can anyone give me some guidance if you have some time on what the best domains to go for might be when I'm buying ? One word domains, two word domains and so on. I took in some info on one word domains which was nuts. 30 Mil for friday.com form another posts. I've never heard of anything that insane.

Cheers guys
Pete

Shocking isn't it. Got paid a lot more than that for it, as well. Just saw that it has been de-indexed. What is the go with that ? Who pays that much money for a domain and de-indexes it ? I don't get it.

Congrats on the sale. It appears that you learned that geo+keyword or keyword+geo domains have potential. Many end-users are too busy with their day jobs or just don't understand what to do with a domain (like a simple 301 forward to a website). I still have buyers who bought a domain but never bothered to change the nameservers. It's been reported that some even forget to renew and let domains they bought drop.

Congrats on the sale and welcome to NPs. I truly hope domaining will be everything that you hope.

BTW there is a thread for reporting sales, should you want to post the key data there. If you do so you might want to somehow alter the name (e.g. with / between every two letters) so a search of site does not find it, if that matters.

Congratulations on the sale. Only two quick pieces of advice: 1. Don't go on a registration spree until you have read through the forum and 2. Quality not quantity.

What I wonder is why @Peter Karpouzas registered this name in the first place, if he a) was not into geo domains at the time; b) even after sale couldn't remember how to spell it correctly.

Welcome to Namepros and congrats on the sale.
I don't like the name by the way. It can be seen as:
doctor sex press natick

Anyway, what matters is that you sold it and made a profit! good job :)

Seems like a good way to get your feet wet. Welcome aboard!

BTW - I was involved in SEO for a good many years - going back to the old Lycos and AltaVista days - for a couple of geo/travel sites I developed back in 1999 (or so).
