Just wondering what the general thoughts are about whether the recent trend to legalize marijuana will boost the prices of pot-related domains?

not sure about losing value its just that .coms get more expensive so u cant really say a non .com gets cheaper its just .coms get pricier compared to them. make sense|? thats how i rationalize buying non .coms. i have to buy something if the coms r gone which is the majority of all cases i find when i try to hand reg
Yes losing value because if your not constantly working on your SEO your going to fall in the ranks, and eventually be obsolete from the .coms that are taken and include your same keywords. This guy above me just got cannabismarket.co.nz so their are literally millions of cannabis domains registered across all extensions and their are only realisticly up to thousands of end-users available even if their will always be more, it’s too diluted to give you any chance of selling these. Of all these variations of all those millions of names we know the .com will rank best universally.

so the key is to develop each domain and build value as on its own if not a .com and in a niche with a few variations its a waste of money just regging anything and hoping someone likes it enough to buy it. i think domainers r a bit lazy when it comes to buiding sites or just not concerned enuff with learning how.

If your country isn't going to have a referendum any time soon cannabis domains will be a long wait. I will know next year in the 2020 recreational cannabis referendum.

Many are just names that expire and get picked up by other domainers. Thanks to Cbd finally catching on and starting to go mainstream, general interest in the mj niche has picked up again, especially over the past several months.

loving the cannabis domain thread. I've got a couple:
cannabistesting.co.nz
cannabispharmacy.co.nz
cannabislounge.co.nz
cannabismarket.co.nz

Love the avatar...lol. That pic has to be back in the stone ages for those two...or rather, stoned ages.

Welcome to the forum.

That's why it's better to go for universally acceptable/applicable extensions especially dot com

Is this your sale, or are you just reporting? If it's yours, congrats! Here's to many more...

Now picture this. Every time the singer says pop music imagine a monotone voice saying over the lyrics "POT". Ok? Now listen to the song.

I just purchased not even 24 hours ago leafpharm. com... on godaddy for 1,500$
I might have done a noob thing and not check its landing page which goes to undeveloped.com asking price is 15,000 euros.
I feel like theres some kind of error somewhere and Im not sure how to go about it.
I personally would like to reverse this whole transaction but also it seems like there is something going on since those prices just do not correlate and wish to get in contact with the domains original owner.
any help! SOS.

edit: I've contacted godaddy before realizing the landing page and talked but nothing.Maybe early in the morning they can help me understand the landing page better or possibly get in contact with domain owner. its 3:30 am here been up trying to figure this out.

It's may not be a problem. I believe a previous owner may have listed it at Undeveloped for that amount.

When it's fully in your possession, you can write undeveloped to remove it and relist it with you as owner. Just check the current whois after the purchase is completed

Is there a way I can contact the previous owner? That price difference just seems too different? Im trying to get this reversed or at least sell the domain right now for the purchase price.

Also whois shows under my possession

Not sure why this price difference matters so much. It is not unusual for price variations across platforms - just be glad the price difference was in your favor and it wasn't 1/3 of the price on undeveloped.

If your name is on the whois now then it sounds like a done deal. I'm assuming it was done via Afternic fast transfer (which would pop up in GoDaddy search).

Some members here could probably find out the previous owner- just not sure why it matters. Maybe this was one of Leafurl's many leaf names?

I honestly just need help with reversing this, or atleast a refund.. I dont have the $ to spend on this and I'm hoping someone has some faith and will allow this. I would even sell for bottom 1,500 and 20 percent lost profit on commission. I'm sure it will be a great investment for someone but right now I'm honestly a little desperate.

Advertised price was 10x your acquisition price. And? Congrats and good luck with the name.
