I've got some premium exact match domain names with good monthly traffic and am thinking of building links to them to boost their search rankings and domain authority.

Is this a good thing to do?

You're not the first. As long as you're not breaking parking company TOS.

If they are unparked you can SEO to your heart's content. If parked you are violating every parking co's TOS. We have found situations (double digits out of thousands of parked names) where rogue backlinks (unrequested) are added to parked names (typically directory listings but also others) or added months after the SEO work ended. In a few cases (certainly not all) G has found the new backlink(s) on the parked name and fail listed the name - this can and does happen enough that it is a "thing" to be aware of. You will increase the likelihood of this happening by building links on a name you intend to park. We no longer unpark/do SEO/repark domains as a result. You are likely much more skilled than we are so would be interested to read about your results.

Thank you. But what do you mean by "unpark/repark domains"?

Unpark - remove from parking co rotation - return to website even if simple generic placeholder website or no site at all but of course it is much harder to build links without some form of an active site. G's TOS which must be paralleled by every parking co that uses a G feed prevent you from driving traffic to a parked page therefore you must "unpark" (remove from your parking co account) a domain while you work on it. When you are all done - add it back to your parking co. account. Hope this helps.

To clarify - you don't need to delete the domain from your parking co account but rather deactivate it from being actively parked.
