Hi,

Just on BBC news break Facebook launching "GlobalCoin", keyword GlobalCoin is getting registered like anything. Facebook hasn't announced its name though.

Is it worth to register one?

Thanks
MaX

I registered a Japanese IDN.

グローバルコイン.com

which is GlobalCoin in Japanese.

Sounds like a possible game changer. Especially with Instagram being very popular with first time (young) social media users.

Lots gone already. However, I grabbed:
GlobalCoins(.)app

I take it this means GlobalCoin.com has now sold for $40,000? Didn't it have a $40k BIN on it for a while? Seems it no longer does.

Actuallly still seems to be owned by same person. I guess they've removed the BIN. I wonder why Facebook would announce something like this before buying the domain name. Weird..

I couldn't find where FB officially called it 'GlobalCoin'. It sounds like it was possibly leaked as it's been reported that FB has been in talks with lots of people in the financial industry...........If someone can show where FB has officially called it 'globalcoin' that would be much appreciated.

Although upon further reading GlobalCoin appears to only be the internal name at the moment.

Its more likely to be named shortly as "GLC".

I don't think so. Atleast not until facebook themselves announce it.
It would be speculation now...

I think goldcoin and another global coin using glc already exist? Can they all use glc?
Then ,1-2 globalCoin already exists and live on coinmarketcap. GlobalCoin is all over the news today , A lot of posts on twitter with #globalcoin but still no words from Facebook on it.

Not sure if this is a good name, but Globocoin.com is 2.5 days away from auction end at Godaddy expired auctions with no bids. Could be worth a shot, kinda has a nice ring to it.

That's a ticker on coin market cap and that coin doesn't exist any more

It's possible they already secured a name to use, but keeping a secret for now.

Even FBCoin is almost fully booked in several extensions

I saw a bunch of FB related names available but never messed with them due to FB being a facebook copyright.

i think the reason why is because the actual name they will use is a secret! its not globalcoin

i see globalcoin.com is chinese owned since 2007 thru alibaba cloud comp

no parked page

if fb was to use this domain why is it still the original owner and if they plan to call their crypto coins globalcoins why is this still in chinese hands?

doesnt make sense. the first thing they would do is buy or reg the domain. very simple step especially for a major corp, thats an online biz.

it seems to me to be a ploy to keep domainers from grabbing the dotcom until they r ready unless they own it already and r holding it back until the company is set to go.

with that said i think they have it in hand already and will release the domain name when they launch

be nice to be an insider in that boardroom

Good points and certainly a possibility......Or, they simply don't need it. They already have their platform with billions of people. The coins will be traded amongst their existing platforms and beyond. Although, that is not to say some domains could have value to developers, startups and third party organizations.

yes they certainly have the audience but they have to call the tokens something and i believe it will far removed from globalcoins as that just seems to contrived and quite basic for a company with the $ they have they can call them anything far removed from the obvious and they will sell. a brandable short name ez to spell and trendy.

will it have coins in the name? most likely as thats what they r. tokens? i highly doubt it as thats an old antiquated word and too long. face? doesnt make sense. book? book coins? doesnt make any sense. face coins? sounds weird. bit? possibly but why follow bitcoins name?

i think it will be called totally far removed from anything else.
