Climate science is not settled on the issue, is it, not enough evidence yet, agree?

It is to a large degree conjecture that global warming is a big urgent problem caused by humans
People are tooooo alarmist

Political fingerprints all over the climate science.....

Do you have any evidence to prove that the globe is getting warmer that as it has been for millenniums?

Going through the Utah desert there is dinosaur fossils and evidence of a large rain forest at one time. Autos with V8 SUV engines, coal power and cow flatulence did not cause the change. Climate has always been changing, its dynamic, never stagnant.

The "climate crisis" is a tax and control agenda by elitists that travel in private jets, drive a caravan of SUV V8's and live in mansions with 19 bedrooms for 3 people. Call me when those pushing for "climate" legislation are actually living what they preach.

It's funny when people say "climate has always been changing" as if all they know about climate change is the two words "climate change"
Saying someone is a climate change denier does not mean they think the climate never changed at all or is not changing at all currently
It is well known that when you talk about climate change it refers to a specific idea of what is happening currently and why it is happening
But some people will make these arguments about CLIMATE ALWAYS CHANGES because that's all they have. They go off of two words and make an argument hahahah

Doctor says you are getting fatter and fatter, andit's very dangerous for your health. He notes you admitted you sit on the couch all the time and eat ice cream and potato chips all evening
You say But people have gotten fat throughout history.... And it wasn't because of sitting on the couch watching TV or potato chips hundreds of years ago

https://www.imf.org/en/Publications...Update-Based-on-Country-Level-Estimates-46509

This paper updates estimates of fossil fuel subsidies, defined as fuel consumption times the gap between existing and efficient prices (i.e., prices warranted by supply costs, environmental costs, and revenue considerations), for 191 countries. Globally, subsidies remained large at $4.7 trillion (6.3 percent of global GDP) in 2015 and are projected at $5.2 trillion (6.5 percent of GDP) in 2017. The largest subsidizers in 2015 were China ($1.4 trillion), United States ($649 billion), Russia ($551 billion), European Union ($289 billion), and India ($209 billion). About three quarters of global subsidies are due to domestic factors—energy pricing reform thus remains largely in countries’ own national interest—while coal and petroleum together account for 85 percent of global subsidies. Efficient fossil fuel pricing in 2015 would have lowered global carbon emissions by 28 percent and fossil fuel air pollution deaths by 46 percent, and increased government revenue by 3.8 percent of GDP.

Want to know why climate change is real?

Our atmosphere is made up of various gases, one of them being oxygen.

Trees create oxygen by intaking carbon dioxide through photosynthesis (re: grade school science).

Deforestation is eliminating that capacity.

Emissions from cars, coal plants, homes, etc....times by hundreds of millions the world over....well, we live in a closed system. An ecosystem reliant on balance.

We have colonized the planet like cockroaches and expect no adverse effects? What planet are y'all on?

The anti-environmentalism argument is propagated by old rich men who could care less if the world burns, it's our children who pay.

Just like the national debt. Let's all just turn a blind eye to lunacy until we all just burn into a crisp because that's the responsible thing to do!

Climate change or not, one thing for certain is that we can't survive almost 400K more people born each and every day when only 150K are dying. It's truly insane that the press is playing games with climate catch-phrases while not even mentioning the primary danger facing humankind - OVERPOPULATION.

That type of births-to-deaths math has "global pandemic" written all over it. Either that, or "Zombie Apocalypse". That's why post-apocalyptic/zombie/pandemic/wasteland movies and TV shows are so popular and prevalent right now - people inherently sense the danger and it's powering the cultural zeitgeist.

Of course to large corporations, more people = more customers = great news, which is why we don't hear more about the impending disaster. Big surprise. Everyone needs to eat, everyone needs a place to live, and every single person on Earth degrades the environment just by being alive. Trying to solve climate change while ignoring out-of-control population growth is the height of insanity.

Rampant overpopulation is the root cause of the majority of our climate problems, from deforestation to pollution to disease to the rape of our ecosystem for food to violence & war, and if this pattern continues it will end us. Guaranteed. There is no other possible outcome.

If we truly want to lower our carbon footprint, then every country needs to stop creating more feet.

I highly recommend this online course from UBC on the Science of Climate Change. It is currently archived and not offered but next time it is offered do consider it. If you take it without certification it is free, and the instructor is an award winning university teacher as well as an environmental scientist. She has structured the course with interesting activities - e.g. you write papers and evaluate other students' papers, as well as traditional multiple choice and problem questions. When I took it there was a good mix of students from all around the world and interacting with them was rewarding.

There are undoubtedly many other good MOOCs on this topic from EdX and Coursera but this one I can personally certify as worthwhile.

You will see for yourself the dramatic increase of CO2 compared to the past (and see how that is known, and the natural variability), look in some detail how the greenhouse effect works, etc.

Capitalism is the only thing that can solve the supposed climate change problems. One government cant do it.. IF it is as far along as is commonly reported, even energy source changes wont be enough to stave it off for much longer. Good old fashioned capitalism is the only thing that can fix it. There are ways to eliminate co2 build up in our atmosphere. once its profitable somebody out there will find an efficient way to do it.

Hell, even having a reliable alternative energy source would be a nice baby step. We dont have that, and if you think we do, you are delusional. Capitalism will also solve that one day, but it needs to be legit to be profitable. So make the source legit! Until then, shut up!

^ solid contribution to the conversation. Thanks for your eloquence. So I take it you have no real solutions to this perceived problem of yours? That would seem to be a logical first step, not as easy as screaming/crying about it though. You represent your side well, its what I've come to expect.

People who think capitalism can just solve everything..

Bleach the great barrier reef..It's ok, muh capitalism will solve it one day

Cut down all the forest for profit..It's FINE, muh capitalism will solve it!!

Pump the atmosphere full of things..Deplete the ozone..Start to melt the arctic..Just wait for capitalism, wait

Dump wastes into rivers..

Unleash gases beneath permafrost..

Let's destroy thousands of species..

WAIT FOR CAPITALISM TO SAVE THE DAY :xf.rolleyes:

Dolts

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montreal_Protocol
The Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer (a protocol to the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer) is an international treaty designed to protect the ozone layer by phasing out the production of numerous substances that are responsible for ozone depletion.

Now let's hear how someone is gonna make taking shit out of the atmosphere "profitable"

It is changing no doubt, I have read many different theories as to why, a little bit of each theory makes sense as to why.

I think it is at the brink of being at no return, coal, manufacturing factories, petrol fuels and ect, the world won’t stop using the things that most cause the situation, it is money and greed IMO

climate, is the breath of earth
and...one wind, will be all wind, in the end

climate, is the breath of earth
what they exhale, is what we will breathe

as the world turns and we catch the next breeze

climate :)

imo...
