It's been over 18 months since the last big poll here. So let's take a new poll on best registrar. GoDaddy won the last two, the last one was closer with @namesilo coming in second, 253 votes vs 191 or 29.8% vs 22.5%. The previous big poll saw GoDaddy run away with it 303 votes or 52%.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Everyday rate (including processing fees charged by credit card companies or paypal) would be >= $8.xx anyway.

However, right now:

Namesilo $6.99 new .com registrations, until June 30th. No limits, no coupon code needed.

Kudos to @namesilo for being able to frequently secure better rates from the registry. And for passing the savings onto customers.

That's not what I was asking about...I mean the non-special at the moment price...their standard normal price that they usually have year round.

A couple of weeks ago was a special at $6.99
It's regular and renewal is $8.99

For me definitely Epik!
-Great dashboard : easy to use, functional ; you can see estimated domain value provided by Estibot (even I am not intrerested in how much estibot value is while pricing my domains, I like it because it is good to know the ranking of my domains according to Estibot and it is sometimes good to see a domain which I may drop has a 1k value) , you can see also whois lookups (multiple people or one person actively checking)
- Domain Escrow Service
- Good renewal .com price
- Easy domain forwarding (bulk forwarding), also other bulk options.
- Great CEO (that is the only Ceo/founder of a domain registrar whom I can directly contact and very helpful to me ), also great support

I voted for namesilo.

I like its control panel (not the new one), reasonable prices, marketplace, payment methods, account balance, newbie friendly API, etc.. Their support is very professional, can clarify any small detail for you which you wonder. Namesilo is the best.

From dynadot to me:

A buyer has purchased xxxxxx.xxxx from your listing in our marketplace.

The domain has been moved to the buyer's account.

Your Dynadot account will be credited $474.05 USD for this sale once the processing period is over.

This will take at least 5 days.

If you have any questions or concerns about this matter, please feel free to email us.

---------------------

Nov 9, 2016

From me to dynadot:

Just to know, about how much time remains until having my account credited?

---------------------

Nov 9, 2016

From dynadot to me:

The processing time for marketplace sales can be anywhere from 5-20 business days.

You should expect your account to be credited towards the end of next week.

We do apologize for the wait.

---------------------

Nov 9, 2016

From me to dynadot:

A 20 days wait seems totally excessive, don't you think so? It used to be 5 days or so.

And how is going with the payout option? "it is being worked on" for at least 4 long years xD

https://web.archive.org/web/2012120...m/community/help/question/domain-sale-process

---------------------

Nov 9, 2016

From dynadot to me:

The processing period does require some patience, I won't argue with that.

This is a higher-value sale, however, which adds a bit of time.

Ah, excellent use of Wayback Machine :)

I would suggest that this is something that will continue to be 'worked on'.

You always have the option of using other domain marketplace sites if you'd prefer a cash payout, however.

From me to dynadot:

I was just thinking out loud.

Your site, your rules ;)

I voted for Namesilo, I pretty much like everything about them. Great pricing for both registrations and renewals, fast transfers, great support and a no nonsense, intuitive dashboard. They also worked hard to please domainers requirements and added great features in the last few years.

Dynadot comes right behind in my books and I'm glad to see them second in the poll so far.

One registrar I haven't used yet is Epik (I know, shame on me) but I'll give it a try this year.

Why NameSilo is taking number one in this poll is beyond me. Aren't we got no class? A registrar that has nothing to offer, and looks like early 90s blog. This is the registrar you're voting number one? #SMH

That explains why 90% of registered domains are crap. Why people spends tones of USD on Sedo to promote craps that will never sell.
Best post here! Most of people here register crappy names which they newer even renew, that's why they choice crappy registrars like namesilo because they offer .com's at $8.99, but for the same price you can choice much better registrars with offer also free privacy, protection etc, you need just to talk with their sales rep.

That's a completely ridiculous line in such a highly competitive industry for sales @Dynadot should have gotten you paid, not used that line.

Namesilo is nowhere near the best. Not in Pricing, not in Platform, and not in Performance.

@dande For whom did you vote, if it's not a secret?

Though I have 60% of my domains at Uni, I voted Dynadot.com. I looked at pricing, management interface, customer support, etc. They are simply the best for now.

Godaddy because when you say “Godaddy” to a buyer they get it.

Also, no more time wasted with “pending review » at afternic since you can list your domains right from your godaddy manager.

Pricing is good and you don’t need whois privacy if you want to be found by buyers.

The best place for auctions.

I was going to vote dynadot until the majority of my expired auction wins were renewed. They should learn from other registrars' mistakes and fix that before they get any bigger. Always liked godaddy and namebright, haven't used porkbun, uni or epik but hear good things.

101domain is the best for me! Great support and largest selection.

moved all my names from enom to dynadot....saved me about $1500 a year! very happy with that...
have a few with name.com cause they almost matched the prices as I started my mass exodus to dyna...have had no issues with dynadot so far.

I feel I need to change regs every 4 or 5 years for some reason...so I should be good for another 4 years...its also good because it forces you to go through your names and drop the crap...

like robotunicycles what was i thinking!

looks like they increased about 40% in the past 12 months...so think i made a good choice.

It is interesting to see how GoDaddy is _almost_ becoming the 2nd now. I am wondering why, as the initial trend was crystal clear: Namesilo - Dynadot - GoDaddy.

what is porkbun? I dug a little and looks like they are the registry for
registry for the .wiki, .ink, .design and .gay TLDs
interesting.

They probably asked all employees to vote :)

We are at the halfway point in the voting and GoDaddy coming on, passing @Dynadot for second place.

is that their permanent rate or just some for the moment special price?
That's a promotional price, our regular price would be $8.99

I thought it would be also interesting for members to post (if you like) how many registrars listed in the poll do you have, or have had an account with. For me 16 out of 24.

I have 9 registrars on the list. Over 95% of my domains are with Dynadot. And the rest are in the process of, or waiting to be transferred to Dynadot, once the 60 day holds have expired.

GoDaddy and NameBright have approx 85% of the domains (of the 5% not at Dynadot) waiting for transfer. 5 (of the 9) registrars have only 2 registrations, or less.

Only 1 (ccTLD) domain is not yet supported by Dynadot, and only 1 (nGTLD) domain is too expensive at Dynadot. Dynadot are aware of the issues, and are working on them.
