So that service is a paid service, why am I not surprised. Studies are great and all that, what about a cure once a century? It has been about that long since we have seen an actual cure to anything.

What’s a paid service???

Pub med is a free repository of medical research. Some of the studies have been published in peer reviewed journals - those publications may charge for access i you’re not a subscriber. The abstract summarizes the purpose and usually the findings.

Progress is made all the time. For example immunotherapy is showing great promise for several kinds of cancer. But it takes time and funding to do proper research and valid studies. And as we knock off the “low hanging fruit” the remaining problems become increasingly complex and difficult to solve.

White House Reviews Military Plans Against Iran, in Echoes of Iraq War

At a White House press conference alongside Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, Trump offered his first remarks on Iran after up to four tankers—of which two are believed to be Saudi and one Norwegian—were damaged Sunday off the coast of the United Arab Emirates' Fujairah Emirate in the Sea of Oman. Saudi Arabia and the UAE described the attacks as "sabotage" acts.

"We'll see what happens with Iran. If they do anything, it will be a big mistake," Trump told reporters when asked about rising tensions with Tehran. "I'm hearing little stories about Iran. If they do anything, they will suffer greatly."

Asked directly about the apparent attacks in the Sea of Oman, Trump again said, "We'll see what happens with Iran."
"it's gonna be a bad problem for Iran if something happens, I can tell you that. They're not going to be happy."

When journalists requested clarification, Trump said, "You can figure it out yourself. They know what I mean."

At a meeting of President Trump’s top national security aides last Thursday, Acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan presented an updated military plan that envisions sending as many as 120,000 troops to the Middle East should Iran attack American forces or accelerate work on nuclear weapons, administration officials said.

The revisions were ordered by hard-liners led by John R. Bolton, Mr. Trump’s national security adviser. It does not call for a land invasion of Iran, which would require vastly more troops, officials said.

Oh ok, that explains the denial of access , I did go and was able to check out some med research though.

My point is, we have Diabetes on a rampant tear, Cancer will effect most families, Autoimmune diseases of unknown etiologies and much much more, Not one has anything but treatments, the treatments can be far worse than the disease itself, we are spending billions of dollars on this research with little actual results IMO

US Believes Iran Attacked Ships

"The US now believes Iran is responsible for the sabotage attack on 4 commercial ships on Sunday near the Persian Gulf, according to multiple reports.

According to CBS News and AP, a US team sent to investigate has made the initial assessment that Iranian-backed proxies blew holes in the four ships with explosives. Saudi Arabia announced today that two of its oil tankers were among the four ships that were attacked, and said the ships suffered significant structural damage. The incident is threatening to heighten tensions even further between Iran and the United States, which recently sent a carrier strike group to the Middle East after allegedly learning of new Iranian threats. Some analysts are wondering if the ship attack could lead to US military action."

Saudi Arabia in the mix and you know how BiggestLoser bends over for them. Remember Trump's old tweet:

So yesterday I got the following message from this FACELESS Moderator, with no link back to him:

Your post in the thread The NP's Official USA Political Thread was deleted. Reason: Promoting violence and harm to others is not allowed

The problem, Mr. FACELESS Moderator is that you DON'T say what post was "Promoting violence and harm" to the poor little snowflake that reported it.

It's pretty obvious it was Grilled, who reported me, since he admitted he did it, the same arrogant idiot that thinks the sun shines out of his ass and who in just two days on this thread DISLIKED well over 20 posts aimed solely at those that have a different political viewpoint.

He must get orgasms when he hits his favorite button...

Twitter, Facebook, Google, Instagram and the SPLC would probably love to employ him, without batting an eyelid since he fits perfectly into their biased, leftist line of thought.

SO many different types of cancer though - that's where the immunotherapy studies are exciting. If you can teach the body what a cancer cell is, your own immune system potentially could recognize and attack it, like a flu vaccine. There's one in clinical trials on dogs now that actually may attack several types of cancer. If that has positive results, they will try to see if it applies to humans. Until they try it, we won't know for sure if it works or it just "looked good on paper."

It's also so complex. Someone has an idea - first you try it in-vitro (test tubes and cells). Then they try in mice or rats. But what works in a test tube may not work in an organism, and what works in a mouse may not work in a human. But they need to go down that chain of research because it has to be somewhat promising (and not unexpectedly killing off the lab rats) before they can set up clinical trials with humans. So that's why it looks from the outside like they're spinning their wheels - lots of baby steps, two steps ahead, 1 step backward...

Diabetes - I'm sure there IS plenty of research, I'm not real familiar with the disease so I don't know the status. Probably a lot of research on asthma too.

(Speaking of diabetes, POTUS just nominated Alex Azar -the head of the company that jacked up insulin prices (among other things) - to be secretary of Health and Human Services. The fox guarding the henhouse?.)

Autoimmune - that can be tough. If its something uncommon they will have a tough time getting funding to do the research. The most dollars go to the "popular" diseases.

PubMed tip - anything that says "full text" in the description will have a free full text available, usually a PDF. Sometimes you can include that in a search and find all the freely-available research. And a couple of things to check out - the size of a human study (if it's really tiny the results may not mean much) and whether it's an independent study or commissioned by a company with potential financial interest.

It is like climate change, tons and tons of evidence to support it, but many on the right will not accept certain scientific things just because they don't want to

No. They don't accept certain things because the science behind them has been politicized and is being used as a weapon to help establish Marxist doctrines and centralized government control of the economy to benefit the few at the top.

Rather than using science as a tool to better humankind, the left and central statists use it for propaganda purposes to advance their favorite programs, many of them highly destructive.

Science tainted by politics is what brought Germany the Final Solution, and what enabled many countries (such as Canada and Australia) to steal indigenous children from their families.

"The top environmental problems are selfishness, greed and apathy." Too true, and too endemic to human nature. People really need to be enlightened and to put it into practice. But that will truly require a spiritual revolution. It will not be brought about by coercive government actions or by the pursuit of narrow self-interest.

It would be nice to discuss ideas like this here rather than the petty and insignificant bickering that usually dominates US political talk.

There are plenty of clear paths to solving the problems of plastic pollution, environmental degradation, marine degradation and loss of species and bees. It's mostly a distraction to speak of global warming because it is still to a large degree conjecture, and no actually workable solutions have even been offered. Meanwhile, there are problems we can see in front of us right now that actually can be solved with education and will.
