Hi @Tryjake .. and welcome to NamePros! :)

This is the meet and greet section, so how about you tell us a bit more about yourself like some of your background and interests .. and most importantly, what drew you to be interested in domains and what your experience has been like so far?

In terms of advice, I definitely recommend you take some time to read, listen and learn as much as possible before spending too much. Take a few days/weeks to check out the massive amounts of information shared at NamePros .. check out some of the blogs and podcasts as well!

If you really need more of a start to finish course type approach, then consider DNAcademy (link in my signature), as @Michael Cyger has the best course in the business if you are willing to put in the time, effort and work.

Best of luck to you going forward in the wonderful world of domains! :)

Thanks again for the nice welcome messages. I guess I will start over and try to do a better job of introducing myself. Obviously my name is Jake. Lol. I am from Sweet Home Alabama. I will try to watch it on here because my sense of humor can be hard for some to understand especially over text or email. I could also say that I am not necessarily the best communicator via chats, text, email and other settings such as this one. I will get better though. I became interested in domains about two years ago. Since then I have 400-600 domains? I have turned a handful of them into sites. Sometimes I activate a site to mess with friends, others to wish a Happy Mother’s Day, to begin an idea, promote a movie idea, or just to work on an idea and website building in general. I knew nothing about the business before hand and am actually terrible with computers. I love to study coins and believe there should be many more younger numismatists out there so one of the first domains I purchased (not to be political please don’t take it the wrong way but the domain magawc.com Make America Great Again With Coins. I still haven’t worked in the project. Lol. I then have been studying stamps and so between those two I expanded into a lot of 5 letter.coms. Most of which I could make any of you an acronym for any business or sector of society as a whole that you wanted. I then just kind of went from there. I get an idea and end up adding 5-10 to now have however many exactly I have. So then I realized....”dang I better read up and figure out how to hopefully sell some of these domains because they are going to start renewing soon”. So I started reading and now I am here. I have tried to cover every sector of the business and society I can think of. Domains range from best deals.pizza to .house, several apparel related domains, gambling, home rental, travel, financial, money, coffee, resorts, healthcare, currency and who knows what else. Any help is greatly appreciated. I of course love all the domains. I could write a novel about all the funny ideas I can get and the world of ideas that open up when I discovered domains. I look forward to learning more. In hindsight I should have bought 4-5 and done some research. I don’t operate that way unfortunately so here I am! I’m going to be reading and learning. In the meantime again any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for having me and I look forward to learning from those more wise than I.

Your Friend,

Jake (From Alabama)
